27Rooms Czapskich Great Location, Old Town Overview

Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first walked up to 27Rooms on Czapskich Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in humble packages, and this little boutique spot really grew on me during my stay in Krakow’s Old Town.

The thing about Czapskich Street is that it’s perfectly positioned – you’re literally a 3-minute walk from the Main Market Square, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of tourists and street performers at all hours. I mean, you can still hear the occasional late-night group stumbling back from the bars on Floriańska, but it’s actually pretty quiet for being so central. The hotel itself has this understated charm – it’s in one of those beautiful old Krakow buildings with thick walls and character, though honestly, some of the rooms are on the smaller side (hence the name, I guess). My room overlooked the courtyard, which meant I slept like a baby, but if you get one facing the street, you might catch some early morning delivery trucks.

What really won me over was the staff’s genuine helpfulness – not that overly polished hotel service, but actual useful advice. The front desk guy (Tomasz, I think?) steered me away from the tourist trap restaurants right on the square and pointed me toward this incredible pierogi place on Kanonicza that I never would have found otherwise. The breakfast isn’t anything fancy, but it’s solid – proper Polish bread, decent coffee, and they actually have some local cheeses that most hotels skip. The rooms themselves are clean and functional, though the bathrooms are definitely compact (I’m talking airplane-small in some cases). But honestly, when you’re paying what you pay and you’re this close to everything that matters in Krakow, you’re not going to spend much time in your room anyway. I could walk to Wawel Castle in under 10 minutes, hit up the Jewish Quarter in Kazimierz in about 15, and I was stumbling distance from some of the best bars in the city. The WiFi actually works well – important if you’re trying to navigate or keep in touch with folks back home – and they have a tiny elevator, which saved my legs after long days walking on those beautiful but brutal cobblestones. It’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what a smart traveler wants: a comfortable, well-located base that doesn’t blow your budget, run by people who actually care about showing you their city properly.

Krakow’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with historical character, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this beautifully preserved Polish city.
