Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first saw the name “AMBER APARTAMENt 127” – something about that capitalization made me wonder what I was getting into. But you know what? Sometimes the places with quirky names turn out to be the real gems, and this little spot on Szlak absolutely delivered.

The thing about staying right on Szlak is that you’re literally steps from everything that matters in Krakow’s Old Town, but – and this is crucial – you’re not dealing with the chaos of staying directly on the main square where tourists stumble around at 2 AM. I mean, you can walk to St. Mary’s Basilica in maybe three minutes, but when you want to crash after a long day of exploring Wawel Castle, it’s actually quiet enough to sleep. The building itself has that solid, old-world feel you want in Krakow (thick walls, thank god), though the apartment is clearly been updated with all the modern stuff that actually works. The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped – I’m talking proper coffee maker, not some sad instant coffee situation, and enough space to spread out groceries from the little market on Grodzka if you want to do breakfast at home.

What really won me over was how the owner clearly gets what travelers need. There’s fast WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, the shower has proper water pressure (you’d be surprised how rare this is in some Old Town places), and they’ve got blackout curtains that actually block out the morning light when you want to sleep in. The whole place feels lived-in rather than sterile – there are books on the shelves, decent art on the walls, and furniture that’s comfortable rather than just photogenic. I appreciated little touches like having an umbrella by the door (it’s Krakow, it rains) and actual hangers in the closet, not just three wire things. The location means you’re close enough to walk everywhere but far enough from Florianska Street that you won’t hear groups of drunk backpackers singing at midnight. Plus, if you want to grab dinner somewhere locals actually eat instead of tourist traps, you’re right near some fantastic spots that most visitors never find because they stick to the main drags around the square.

  The location is fantastic, it's only a 15 minute walk from the main square. The property was extremely clean, had great facilities(dishwasher, two bathrooms and a kitchen etc). The view outside the windows of the property is very nice. The beds were very comfortable. It's very spacious and offers very good value for money. I commend the owner of this property, they're going a great job. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to organise a get together with friends.

  Conditions, location, but the best was support and great contact form owners (they've called us before our arrival and checked if all is clear and provided much helpful guidance)
  
  What could be improved: Some of the beds are for 2 people, which we didn't figure out while booking, so 2 lads ended up sleeping togather, for one night that was fine, but I would prefer much more more single beds there.

  The accommodation is in a perfect location, very modern and well equipped. The area is perfect, with lots of cafes, breakfast places and grocery stores.
  
  What could be improved: The host's communication is not sufficient. He responds with long, complicated, sometimes evasive responses. Oh, and he doesn't speak English!! I had to communicate with him in Polish.

  Great location, 3 zabka markets are in 5 min walk, Shopping mall and City center is in 10-15 min walk.
  Apartment is nice, for 6 people it was great.
  
  What could be improved: it's not a negative thing, but just wanted to mention that mattresses are a kind of a soft, so when you sit on it – you can't sit as on a chair
