You know what struck me first about Amber Design Residence? It’s one of those places where someone clearly sweated the details – and I mean that in the best way possible. Walking into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense that you’re not dealing with another cookie-cutter hotel situation. The design feels intentional, sort of like staying in a really well-curated friend’s apartment, if that friend happened to have impeccable taste and a serious budget.

The rooms are honestly where this place really shines. I’ve stayed in plenty of four-star spots that phone it in with generic furniture and bland art, but the Amber gets it right. The lighting actually works for both reading and getting ready (why is this so rare?), and they’ve managed to strike that tricky balance between stylish and comfortable. The beds are solid – not too soft, not too firm – and the linens feel expensive without being fussy. What really got me was the attention to the little things: proper hangers in the closet, enough outlets where you actually need them, and a bathroom setup that doesn’t make you contort yourself around a poorly placed sink. The soundproofing is pretty decent too, though you might catch some hallway chatter if you’re a light sleeper.

Staff-wise, they seem to actually know what they’re doing, which feels refreshing these days. Check-in was smooth, and when I had a question about late checkout, they sorted it out without making me feel like I was asking for the moon. The housekeeping team is thorough – I noticed they actually moved things to clean under them, not just around them. Honestly, with a 9.2 rating, I was expecting something special, and while the Amber doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it executes everything really well. It’s the kind of place where you can focus on whatever brought you to the area instead of dealing with hotel headaches. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels more like a temporary home than a generic room, and you don’t mind paying a bit more for that peace of mind, this one’s worth considering. Just don’t expect a huge lobby scene or tons of amenities – the appeal here is more about refined comfort than flashy extras.

  Everything was great. The room was a good size and it was new and clean. The bed was comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well and was quiet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be close to everything but in a quiet street.

  Beautifully presented art deco style hotel in the most perfect location in krakow.
  Staff were wonderful and couldn’t do enough for you.
  Our room was lovely with plenty of space, high ceilings and a balcony.
  All the facilities you would expect from a top notch hotel were available.
  If you require trips arranged, transfers to anywhere, a taxi booked they can do this for you.
  The hotel even has a gym and sauna (which I used for the princely sum of £6 for 1hour)
