Aneks Hotelu Kazimierz Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Aneks Hotelu Kazimierz on Miodowa Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots end up surprising you the most. This little hotel sits right in the heart of Old Town, and I mean *right* in it – you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Main Square, which sounds touristy but is actually perfect because you can duck back to your room between all that sightseeing without planning your whole day around it.

The thing about staying on Miodowa is that you’re in this sweet spot where you get the full medieval Krakow experience without being directly on the main tourist drag where those horse carriages clip-clop by at 6 AM (trust me, learned that lesson at another hotel). The street itself has this lovely cobblestone charm, though fair warning – if you’re dragging a wheeled suitcase, well, good luck with that. The building has character, you can tell it’s been around for ages, and honestly the 8.4 rating makes total sense once you settle in. It’s not trying to be fancy, but everything just… works. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff actually knows the neighborhood (ask them about the best pierogi place – it’s not where you think), and the whole vibe is refreshingly unpretentious.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep that old Krakow atmosphere without making you feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. The walls are thick enough that you don’t hear every conversation in the hallway, which honestly isn’t always a given in these historic buildings. And here’s something I didn’t expect – the location puts you within walking distance of both the Jewish Quarter (Kazimierz proper is just across the river) and Wawel Castle, so you can actually explore different parts of the city on foot instead of figuring out trams every five minutes. I mean, you’ll probably want to take the tram eventually because Krakow’s bigger than it looks, but it’s nice having options. For a 3-star place in this location, with this kind of authentic neighborhood feel, it’s actually pretty solid value. You’re paying for the experience of staying in real Old Town, not just near it, and that’s worth something.

  • Very Good – Andy from Poland – December 19, 2024 (8/10)

Great location, comfortable bed and great breakfast

What could be improved: Room was a little small and creaky and a bit difficult to work out out how to locate it as it was like a number of separate apartments linked to a hotel.

  • Perfect – Jekaterina from Lithuania – August 10, 2024 (9/10)

Breakfast is very good. Location is very good. Kazimierz area is full of bars, cafeteria and restaurants. Small hotel but we liked it. It has a main entrance and annex, that looks like the entrance to appartments

  • Very Good – Monika from Lithuania – August 5, 2024 (8/10)

    nice location, comfy bed

What could be improved: the room was on the first floor, everyone from the street could look inside from the windows. Quite noisy at night. The smell in the room was awful as like someone was smoking in the room and the walls and carpet absorbed it and could not get rid of it

  • A very good place to stay. – Horia from Romania – August 2, 2024 (9/10)

It was close to the old town and the castle, around 15 minutes. Also the hotel is in the old jewish quarter and there are a lot of restaurants and bars nearby to choose from. Life in the neighborhood is very vibrant. The staff was super helpful with information, invoice, storing our luggage and answering any question we had.
