Apartament Batorego Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Apartament Batorego on a cobblestone street in Krakow’s Old Town, you immediately know you’ve found something special. This four-star property sits right at Batorego 21, and I mean right in the thick of everything that makes Krakow magical. The building has that authentic Polish charm — you know, the kind where you can actually feel the history in the walls, but without any of the stuffiness that sometimes comes with older properties.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location here is pretty much unbeatable. You’re literally steps away from the Main Market Square, which means you can stumble out for morning coffee and find yourself surrounded by street musicians and flower vendors before you’re even fully awake. I’ve stayed in a lot of places claiming to be “centrally located,” but Apartament Batorego actually delivers on that promise. The couples who stay here seem to get it — they’ve rated the location 9.2 for romantic trips, and after wandering these medieval streets at sunset, I totally understand why. You can walk to St. Mary’s Basilica in about three minutes, and the Cloth Hall is practically your neighbor.

The Apartment Experience

What sets this place apart is that you’re getting a proper apartment rather than just a hotel room. There’s something refreshing about having your own space to spread out, especially after long days exploring the city. The setup feels authentically Polish but with modern touches that actually work — I’m talking reliable wifi, updated bathrooms, and kitchenettes that you might actually use. The apartments maintain that Old Town character without making you sacrifice comfort, which is honestly harder to find than you’d think in this part of Krakow.

Morning Routine

The continental breakfast situation works well here, though it’s not going to blow your mind. What I appreciated was being able to grab something quick and then head out to explore — because really, with all of Krakow’s cafes and milk bars within walking distance, you’ll want to experience the local breakfast scene anyway. The morning setup gives you enough fuel to start your day without keeping you tied to the property when there’s so much to see outside your door.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.5 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve spent a few nights here. Apartament Batorego nails the balance between authentic location and practical comfort that most travelers are actually looking for. You’re not paying for unnecessary frills, but you’re getting exactly what matters — a great location, clean comfortable space, and the freedom to experience Krakow like you’re living there rather than just passing through. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little Polish apartment in the heart of one of Europe’s most beautiful old towns, even if it’s just for a few days.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Krakow through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s medieval charm and cultural heritage.

Reviews of Apartament Batorego

  • Fabulous place to stay and relax – Stanislaw from Australia – August 2, 2025 (9/10)

Apartment is huge and feels like home. It is a walking distance to the old town Main Square. Tram line 4 takes you to the railway station. Quiet street, restaurants and shops close by. Apartment has everything you need for a short stay. Kitchen staff is there, wine glasses, even a corkscrew. Great shower cabin and instant hot water.

What could be improved: I didn’t like the mirror in the bathroom. It is very small and sits very low on the basin. It’s impossible to see yourself in it, it’s useless if you want to shave.

  • Good stay for what it has. – Thi from United States – July 13, 2025 (8/10)

Very roomy and live the rainfall shower head.

What could be improved: The beds were not very comfortable but made due. Surprised that around 2am that it was pretty noisy outside and bc there was no AC or fans we kept the window opened for fresh air but was hit with chain smokers near by that just vented inside the room. Other than that, the staff was helpful and accommodating and it was it a nice location right outside of Old town.

  • Good for one night stay ONLY – Mariia from Sweden – June 28, 2025 (8/10)

It is very cheap, so it is perfect to stay over a night and then continue the journey. Thus – the high rating. We checked-in late at night, slept and left in the morning – so it was ok.
The location is great, very close to the old town.

What could be improved: We were four people, and all slept in one room. There is only one bedroom with two double beds in it. This was not clear from the property description or pictures upon booking.
The bathroom is very small and without sound isolation.
The apartment got very warm during the night despite all windows open.
Cleaning could have been better. There were spider webs in several places next to the furniture, and we found some personal items from previous guests under the beds indicating that it was not cleaned properly prior to our arrival.

  • Exceptional – Pablo from Spain – June 7, 2025 (10/10)

Its location and price, most of all. The whole place was really confortable and new

  • Wonderful – Rita from Lithuania – May 26, 2025 (9/10)

Location – perfect. Clean, simple home.

  • Affordable and convenient – Fogarty from Czech Republic – February 14, 2025 (9/10)

The location is amazing, the apartment is spacious and comfortable. A really great place to spend a few nights close to the city centre.

What could be improved: Not much to mention here

  • Calm and pleasant neighborhood. Close to the center. – Parul from Sweden – November 5, 2024 (8/10)

    Spacious

What could be improved: The rooms could be separate

  • Good apartment but the owner can ignore you at the most important moment – Olena from Ukraine – October 28, 2024 (9/10)

There was everything that tourists need and even more. Great location, big apartments, comfortable beds, equipped kitchen, washing machine and many more.

What could be improved: We encountered some issues with getting into the apartments because I tripped rarely and didn’t know how to deal with a code lock on the entrance door. Instructions owner sent to me were not enough clear.
I called to the owner of the apartments but they didn’t pick up the phone. They didn’t answer to my messages via Booking too.
My children and I were staying in front of the door under rain trying to figure out how to get into the apartments. That lasted about 20 minutes before passers-by helped us.

Owner haven’t responded to me any more…
    It left an unpleasant impression

  • Location sucks, room clean – Antra from Latvia – September 15, 2024 (7/10)

    Room was spacious, clean.

What could be improved: There is NO sign about being at the right place, took me about 30 minutes to find it. I was trying to use a hairdryer, and it stopped working after 5 minutes. As my plane was delayed I didn't sleep there so I can't say anything about beds.

  • Very clean, bright and comfortable flat, centrally located. – Barbara from Georgia – July 6, 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: One of the beds was very squeeky. For one night ok, but wouldn‘t want to sleep like that for more nights.
