Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked into this apartment on Dunajewskiego, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s tucked away on this quiet side street that most tourists probably walk right past. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it perfect. You’re literally a two-minute stroll from the main square (and I actually timed it because I’m weird like that), but you don’t get any of that late-night street performer noise or the endless stream of tour groups that can make staying right on Rynek Główny feel like living in a fishbowl.
The jacuzzi thing isn’t just marketing fluff either – it’s actually a proper-sized hot tub that fits two people comfortably, which was a godsend after spending entire days walking on those gorgeous but absolutely brutal cobblestones. The apartment itself has this sort of renovated historical vibe going on, where they’ve kept some of the old character (high ceilings, original wood details) but made everything actually functional for modern life. The kitchen’s small but well-equipped, and there’s a little grocery store about fifty meters down the street where you can grab basics without venturing into the tourist-priced shops closer to St. Mary’s Basilica. Parking was… well, let’s be honest, parking in Kraków’s Old Town is never fun, but the host gave us solid directions to a nearby garage that wasn’t completely outrageous price-wise.
What really sold me on the place was how it felt like staying in someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. The owner clearly knows the neighborhood – they left this handwritten list of local spots that included a tiny pierogi place on Grodzka Street that I never would have found otherwise, plus a wine bar down this random alley that locals actually go to. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, no hovering desk clerks or forced small talk, just clear instructions and someone available by phone if you needed anything. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you’re the type who wants to feel connected to the city but still have a quiet retreat to come back to. Fair warning though – if you’re traveling with big suitcases, those stairs might test your patience a bit, but honestly, that’s pretty much unavoidable in this part of town unless you’re dropping serious cash on one of the fancy chain hotels.
