You know what caught me off guard about Apartamenty i Studia HERBARIUM? The name makes it sound like some botanical research facility, but step inside and you realize it’s actually a really thoughtful take on apartment-style accommodations right in the heart of Old Town. I mean, being on Floriańska Street puts you maybe a three-minute walk from the Main Square – you can practically hear the horse-drawn carriages clip-clopping by in the morning, which is either charming or slightly annoying depending on how late you stayed out at the bars near St. Mary’s Basilica.

The place has this interesting setup where they’ve converted what feels like a historic building into modern studios and apartments, and honestly, they’ve done a pretty solid job balancing the old Krakow character with stuff that actually works for travelers. The kitchenettes are small but functional – I managed to make decent coffee and store some pierogi from Milkbar Tomasza down the street without any issues. What I really appreciated was the attention to soundproofing, because let’s be real, staying right on one of the main pedestrian routes through Old Town could be a nightmare if you’re trying to sleep. Sure, you’ll still get some late-night chatter from people wandering back from Kazimierz, but it’s not the chaos you might expect.

The staff actually knows the neighborhood – when I asked about getting to Wawel Castle without dealing with the tourist crowds, they gave me a specific route through the side streets that saved me probably twenty minutes of elbow-to-elbow shuffling. That 8.7 rating makes sense once you factor in little things like having decent water pressure (not always a given in these old buildings), reliable WiFi, and the fact that they don’t nickel-and-dime you for basics. I will say the elevator is one of those tiny European ones that basically fits you and your luggage if you breathe in, but that’s pretty standard for this part of town. The real win here is location without the premium price tag of the hotels right on the square – you’re close enough to stumble home from Pod Wawelem after a night of trying every Polish beer they have, but far enough from the absolute tourist mayhem to actually get some rest.

  Very clean and great location close to the main square and shops. Communication with the owner was good and there were lock boxes outside the room for suitcases once you've checked out. Overall I would highly recommend it..

  All was good. The apartments are almost in the historical city center (approximately 100 meters to the central square), so many restaurants, bars, and shops are around. 3 separate bedrooms for a big company. Description and photos are actual. I recommend.
