You know what hit me first about Apartamenty Józefa Kazimierz? The location is honestly ridiculous – and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re literally on Józefa Street, which means you’re deep in Kazimierz without all the tourist chaos of the main square, but still close enough that you can stumble back from Alchemia or Singer at 2am without calling an Uber. The building itself has that perfectly restored Old Town vibe – you can tell someone actually cared about keeping the character intact instead of just slapping modern fixtures everywhere and calling it a day.

The apartments themselves feel like someone’s stylish friend let you crash at their place, except everything actually works properly. I mean, the kitchens are genuinely functional (not those sad hotel kitchenettes with two plates and a broken coffee maker), and honestly, after eating pierogi every meal for three days straight, being able to make a simple breakfast was kind of a relief. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious too – I’ve stayed in “luxury” hotels in Krakow where you practically had to shower sideways. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re right in the heart of everything. The windows are properly insulated, so you’re not hearing every drunk group wandering back from the bars on Szeroka Street.

Here’s the thing though – and this is where it gets really good – you’re about a three-minute walk from some of the best synagogues and museums in Kazimierz, but you’re also perfectly positioned to cut through Planty Park to get to the Old Town proper. I actually timed it once because I’m weird like that: seven minutes to the Cloth Hall if you walk at a normal pace. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places just hand you a generic city map. They pointed me toward this tiny café on Ciemna Street that I never would’ve found otherwise, and it became my morning routine for the rest of the trip. The 8.9 rating makes total sense when you add it all up – it’s not trying to be fancy for the sake of being fancy, it just does everything well without any of the usual budget accommodation compromises.

  The apartment is very cosy and nicely furnished. The kitchen was well equipped for our purposes and the bathroom was very good. The location was great with plenty of places to eat and immediate access to the Jewish area. We walked everywhere but there is great public transport nearby.
