Hotel Description
So I stayed at this place with the absolutely ridiculous name – Apartamenty Karmelicka Deluxe Old Town WAWELOFTS – and honestly, whoever came up with that mouthful probably never had to tell a taxi driver where they were going. But here’s the thing: despite the overly ambitious branding, this spot actually delivers on what matters most when you’re exploring Kraków’s Old Town.
The location is what really makes it work. You’re right on Karmelicka Street, which puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to the Main Square in about eight minutes (I timed it), but you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups that plague the streets closer to the Cloth Hall. The apartment I stayed in had these tall windows that looked out onto the street, and you know what? The morning light was incredible – that golden hour thing that makes you feel like you’re in some European film. The space itself felt more like someone’s actual apartment than a hotel room, which I mean in the best way possible. There’s a proper kitchen (not just a mini-fridge situation), and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious for a building that’s probably been around since before anyone thought to make hotel bathrooms Instagram-worthy.
I’ll be straight with you though – this isn’t luxury in the marble-lobby sense. The 3-star rating is pretty spot-on, and that 7.2 score tells you it’s solid without being spectacular. Some of the furniture looks like it’s seen better days, and the WiFi can be temperamental if you’re trying to video call home. But honestly? When you’re spending your days wandering through Wawel Castle (literally a 12-minute walk) or getting lost in the Jewish Quarter, you’re not exactly hanging around the apartment anyway. What matters is that the bed was comfortable enough, the shower had decent pressure, and there’s a little grocery store right around the corner where the woman behind the counter actually remembered me by day three. The area gets pretty quiet at night too – not silent, because you’re still in the city center, but that pleasant kind of urban hum that actually helps you sleep. If you’re the type who needs everything to be perfect and Instagram-ready, maybe look elsewhere. But if you want a genuine base in one of Europe’s most beautiful old towns without paying castle-view prices, this weird-named little place might surprise you.
The concierge service in Krakow can arrange exclusive castle tours, secure classical concert tickets, and organize visits to nearby Wieliczka Salt Mine and Auschwitz Memorial.

The location is perfect for the tourism visit because it is close to the main square and Galeria Krakowska train/bus station. My card was rejected by booking.com, and the apartment's owner helped me to pay in another way: by transfer, thank you. The apartment is clean and spacious. Everything is perfect if not because the door to the bathroom is stuck and we shouldn't close the bathroom because afraid can't open it.
