Hotel Description

Honestly, when I first heard the name “Lucky 13,” I wasn’t sure what to expect – but this place absolutely lives up to its reputation with that stellar 9.2 rating. Tucked away on Grzegórzecka Street in the Grzegórzki district, these apartments feel like discovering Krakow’s best-kept secret. You know what struck me immediately? The building has this perfect blend of old Polish charm with genuinely modern touches that actually work (not the half-hearted renovations you see everywhere).

The location is honestly brilliant if you know Krakow at all. You’re far enough from the tourist crowds around the Main Square that you can actually sleep at night, but close enough that a pleasant 15-minute walk gets you right into the heart of everything. I mean, the Vistula River is practically around the corner, and there’s this fantastic little bakery two blocks down that locals queue up at every morning – the kind of spot you’d never find staying in some generic hotel near Wawel Castle. The trams run frequently from nearby, which is clutch because parking in central Krakow can be… well, let’s just say challenging during peak season.

What really sets these apartments apart is the attention to detail that you notice after staying a day or two. The kitchens are actually equipped for real cooking (imagine that!), not just the token mini-fridge and microwave setup. The wifi works consistently – and I tested it thoroughly while working remotely for a week. The beds are properly comfortable, not that firm-as-concrete European hotel standard, and the soundproofing is surprisingly good considering you’re in the middle of a city. I stayed during one of those typical Polish summer thunderstorms, and honestly, it was kind of cozy listening to the rain while staying completely dry and comfortable inside. The staff genuinely seems to care too – they responded quickly when I had a minor issue with the shower pressure (fixed within two hours), and they gave me some excellent restaurant recommendations that weren’t the usual tourist traps. Sure, the building exterior won’t win any architecture awards, but once you’re inside, everything feels thoughtfully designed for people who actually need to live somewhere for more than just a night or two. If you’re planning to explore Krakow properly – and I mean really explore it, not just hit the major sights – this is exactly the kind of base you want.

To book hotel in Krakow during the famous Krakow Film Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts history enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.
