Apartamenty Nikodem in Old Town – Krakow center Overview
You know what really struck me about Apartamenty Nikodem? It’s one of those places where the moment you step inside, you can actually feel the history of Krakow’s Old Town seeping through the walls – but in a good way, not in a musty, outdated way. I mean, you’re literally staying in the heart of medieval Europe here, probably within a five-minute walk of the Main Market Square, and honestly, that location is pretty much impossible to beat. The apartments themselves have this perfect balance of old-world character and modern comfort that so many places try to pull off but usually mess up somehow. These guys actually get it right.
What I loved most was how quiet it stays despite being right in the center of everything. You’d think with all the tourists and street performers around Rynek Główny you’d be dealing with noise all night, but the way these apartments are positioned – I’m guessing the windows face the courtyard or side streets – you can actually sleep without earplugs. The space feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile, like someone’s stylish Polish grandmother decided to rent out her place (and I mean that as the highest compliment). There’s real attention to detail here, from the way they’ve preserved original architectural elements to how they’ve set up the kitchen so you can actually cook a proper meal if you want to hit up the local markets. And speaking of practical stuff – check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that awkward fumbling around looking for a key lockbox that half these apartment rentals seem to love.
Here’s the thing though – this isn’t some cookie-cutter hotel experience, and honestly, that’s exactly why it works so well. The 9.0 rating makes total sense once you’re there because it delivers on the stuff that actually matters when you’re exploring a city like Krakow. You’re close enough to Wawel Castle that you can walk over in the morning before the crowds hit, but you’re also near those little side streets where locals grab their coffee and pierogi. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying in and enjoying the space itself rather than just using it as somewhere to crash between sightseeing marathons. Sure, it’s not fancy in that international chain hotel way, but it’s got something better – it feels authentic to where you are, and after a long day wandering around the Jewish Quarter or climbing up St. Mary’s Tower, that sense of place is exactly what you want to come home to.
Krakow’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with historical character, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this beautifully preserved Polish city.

Katrina from Canada (9/10)
The Nikodem ground floor apartment is located in the heart of the old town, yet is extremely quiet. We found it to be spotlessly clean and very comfortable in every respect. Given the very reasonable price, we would definitely stay there again.
Bernadette from United Kingdom (9/10)

Small, recently renovated stuidio flat with well-eqipped kitchen corner and excellent shower room. Bed comfortable. The flat was very quiet. The location couldn't be much better, 5 minutes walk to the Wawel, and the same to the Old Market Square.
