Aparthotel Camea Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Aparthotel Camea on Grodzka Street, you immediately know you’ve hit the jackpot location-wise. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Main Market Square — I could hear the horse-drawn carriages clattering past from my window. This three-star property sits in a beautifully restored building that feels authentically Polish without being stuffy about it. The entrance is modest but welcoming, and honestly, when you’re staying in Kraków’s Old Town, the real magic happens once you step outside anyway.
The Apartment Experience
What I loved about staying here is that each apartment actually feels like a proper little home base rather than just a hotel room. Mine had a compact but well-equipped kitchen — nothing fancy, but perfect for brewing morning coffee or storing those Polish pastries you’ll inevitably buy too many of. The space was clean and functional, with that European efficiency where everything has its place. The furnishings are simple but comfortable, and you know what? After spending your days wandering cobblestone streets, you just want somewhere cozy to collapse.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about Grodzka Street — it’s one of those ancient routes that connects the Main Square to Wawel Castle, so you’re basically living on Kraków’s main historical artery. I could walk to St. Mary’s Basilica in about three minutes, and the castle was maybe a ten-minute stroll downhill. The Jewish Quarter in Kazimierz? Easy fifteen-minute walk across the river. You’re also surrounded by some fantastic little cafes and traditional Polish restaurants that tourists often miss because they’re tucked into these medieval side streets.
Practical Perks
The staff here actually knows the neighborhood — they pointed me toward this incredible milk bar (bar mleczny) that I never would have found otherwise. Parking can be tricky in the Old Town, but they’ll help you figure out the closest options if you’re driving. The building itself is quiet despite being on a fairly busy street, which surprised me. I slept well even with the windows open, though you might catch some late-night chatter from people walking back from the square — honestly, it just adds to the atmosphere.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or a grand lobby, but that’s not really the point. What Aparthotel Camea does brilliantly is put you right in the heart of one of Europe’s most beautiful medieval cities without breaking the bank. Couples especially seem to get it — there’s something romantic about having your own little Polish apartment steps from all that history. The combination of independence (thanks to the apartment setup) and that unbeatable location makes it feel like you’re living in Kraków rather than just visiting. For the price point and that location score, it’s honestly hard to beat.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Krakow at least two months ahead for major events like cultural festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near Market Square.

Aleksandra from Ireland (8/10)
Location. Really centre. The room was very clean. Service really nice. Even the size of the room (as far as single room can be considered) was rather roomy. I've seen people throwing double beds into such rooms and calling the double rooms. So overall nice surprise there.
