Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Aparthotel Oberża? It’s tucked right on Miodowa Street in a way that feels completely intentional – like someone actually thought about where travelers want to be, not just where they could squeeze in another hotel. I mean, you’re literally steps from the main square, but somehow you’ve escaped that tourist chaos that makes you want to hide in your room.
The building itself has this understated elegance that’s very Krakow – it doesn’t try to compete with all the baroque churches and medieval towers around it, but it definitely belongs there. Walking in, there’s this immediate sense that whoever runs this place actually cares about details. The lobby smells faintly of coffee and something floral (maybe it’s whatever they use to clean the floors?), and honestly, after trudging around cobblestones all day, that kind of thoughtful atmosphere matters more than you’d expect. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling, just genuine recommendations about where to grab pierogi that wouldn’t break the bank.
What really won me over, though, were the apartments themselves. They’ve managed to give you that “I could actually live here” feeling without making everything so pristine you’re afraid to touch anything. The kitchenettes are properly equipped – I’m talking real knives that actually cut things, not those sad plastic things most places give you. The beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you slept on a marshmallow, and the soundproofing is surprisingly good considering you’re in the heart of Old Town. Even when the weekend crowds were wandering Floriańska Street just around the corner, I could barely hear them.
One thing I particularly appreciated – and this might sound silly – but they’ve got these little touches that show they understand travelers. Like, there’s actually enough outlets near the bed for your phone, and the shower pressure doesn’t make you question your life choices. The WiFi reaches every corner of the room, which saved me from that awkward crouch-near-the-router situation I’ve experienced in way too many European hotels.
Location-wise, you’re basically in the sweet spot. Five minutes to the main square if you walk slowly and stop to look at things, two minutes to Szpitalna Street where the locals actually shop, and close enough to the Planty gardens that you can escape there when the Old Town gets overwhelming (which it will, especially in summer). I found myself using the apartment as a proper base – coming back midday to recharge, storing day-trip snacks in the fridge, actually using the space instead of just sleeping there.
Look, it’s not the fanciest place in Krakow, and if you’re expecting marble bathrooms and a concierge in white gloves, this isn’t your spot. But if you want somewhere that feels like a really good friend let you borrow their apartment in the perfect neighborhood – somewhere you can spread out, live normally, and still be in the thick of everything that makes Krakow special – then honestly, you’d be hard-pressed to find better.
The concierge service in Krakow can arrange exclusive castle tours, secure classical concert tickets, and organize visits to nearby Wieliczka Salt Mine and Auschwitz Memorial.

Reviews
A perfect stay for couples or single travelers. – Alessandro from United States – August 13, 2025 (9/10)
Great ambiance in old historic building close to everything. Kind staff. Great breakfast. Restaurant downstairs also good for dinner.
What could be improved: Being an old building, there is no elevator for its three floors. I am fine doing the stairs. The hotel states that people with difficulty climbing stairs may be placed on the ground floor.Great place close to beautiful historic buildings, restaurants and fun. – Len from United States – August 2, 2025 (9/10)
It is very close to the Jewish Quarter and about two blocks from the Ploc Nowy, an open air market surrounded by great restaurants and bars. It also has many street vendors selling food. On the weekend it was a lively place full of energy.
It also had a lovely restaurant with an outdoor courtyard. And the staff was very kind and helpful. It was also very clean and full of old world charm.
What could be improved: I was traveling alone and it was not a problem, but the room was very small, the bed had maybe 10 inches of space on either side from the wall.Exceptional – Jordan from United Kingdom – June 28, 2025 (10/10)
The room was very good, and the breakfast was one of the best I've had
Fabulous clean hotel – Lucy from United Kingdom – June 25, 2025 (10/10)
Everything was just lovely. Good communication on the day one of the staff members called to check arrival and instructions for key etc.
Room was immaculate as Everything else, lovely balcony to sit out on which was spotless. Just wonderful. Staff so friendly and helpful. Thank you
What could be improved: The only thing I could pick a fault with was there was no kettle or any sachets of coffee to make a hot drink in the morning. Because we had early trips we didnt manage to have a hot drink when we woke up. But I would still give this a 10 out of 10 for everything elseGreat city break in this hotel – Gillian from United Kingdom – May 7, 2025 (10/10)
Loved the location and the balcony was fantastic for a cup of tea in morning

The room was very clean and spacious! The hotel has such a cosy vibe about it in general especially as Christmas time, I couldn’t recommend it more. Great location walking distance from most things!
Very nice hotel – Julia from Poland – October 9, 2024 (10/10)
Fantastic boutique hotel, rooms are decorated in a unique style. Located in the center of Kazimierz, close to bars and restaurants. Staff is welcoming and friendly, they offered early check-in even though we didn't ask for it, which was quite nice.
