Aparthotel Rakowicka Residence Overview

You know what struck me first about Aparthotel Rakowicka Residence? It’s got this unexpectedly quiet vibe despite being right in the thick of things on Rakowicka street. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the main square, but somehow the building feels tucked away from all the tourist chaos. The check-in was smooth – none of that awkward waiting around in a cramped lobby situation since it’s more like entering a residential building than a traditional hotel.

The apartments themselves are honestly pretty solid for what you’re paying. They’ve got that modern Polish apartment aesthetic going on – clean lines, decent-sized windows, and thankfully, proper blackout curtains (trust me, summer mornings in Krakow start early). What I really appreciated was the kitchenette setup – not just some sad mini-fridge and kettle combo, but actual counter space and a proper stovetop. Perfect if you want to grab some pierogi from the little shop on Dietla street and heat them up, or if you’re trying to save a few zloty by not eating out every meal. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the apartment, which… well, you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in this part of Europe.

Location-wise, this place is kind of brilliant if you know Krakow at all. You’re close enough to walk to Kazimierz – the old Jewish quarter where all the good bars are – but you’re not stuck in the middle of the late-night party noise. Wawel Castle is maybe fifteen minutes on foot, and there’s a tram stop practically at your doorstep that’ll get you anywhere else you need to go. The neighborhood itself has this nice lived-in feel – there’s a decent grocery store nearby, a few local cafes where you’ll hear more Polish than English, and honestly, it just feels more authentic than staying right on the market square where every other building is a souvenir shop. The 7.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury by any stretch, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. The staff speaks solid English, the place is clean, and the apartment setup gives you that little bit of independence that makes a longer stay actually comfortable rather than feeling like you’re camping out in a hotel room.

Reviews of Aparthotel Rakowicka Residence

  • Very Good – Abhinav from Germany – July 2, 2025 (8/10)

Location was perfect. Calm and peaceful stay even Bring so Close to the Main Road. The room was airy and comfortable. We we're travelling with newborn Kid and Had a relaxed stay as the room was equipped with small kitchenette available as we could prepare food for our Kid and sterilize the Baby bottles. Staff was friendly and helpful. The Restaurant for breakfast was closed but we we're provided with vouchers for Bistro Novum which was just 100 m away and had adequate breakfast Options . Would definitely recommend for people visiting with small Kids.

What could be improved: The towels though Clean were torn. As we prefer harder mattress we found it too soft for us. So we used.more the Sofa bed and used the Main bed without the Topper.

  • Nice little find. – Deanne from United Kingdom – May 28, 2025 (8/10)

It was modern and clean. About 10 to 15 minute walk into the old town. We were recommended it and it was an amazing price so I would stay again if I ever went back to Krakow.

What could be improved: The shower needs some attention. The door is off its runners on ane side but also the plumbing needs sorting as the shower tray fills up and over flows. We didn't mention it because it was only a 2 night stay and didn't detract from the overall experience.

  • My opinion about the room – Julia from Poland – May 3, 2025 (8/10)

Very nice location, it's quite during the evening, the service was good, could be a bit more clean

What could be improved: Not enough pillows

  • Good value – Doris from United States – September 2, 2024 (9/10)

Close to train station and old town. Very clean and quiet.

What could be improved: No complaints

  • Recommend – Valentína from Slovakia – July 27, 2024 (9/10)

The accommodation was nice and clean, the rooms were spacious (our room had two separate room-like sections). The bathroom big and clean as well. Great location with main train station only a few minutes of walking away. The room had a coffee machine, small fridge, hairdryer, they offered tea, coffee and water and there was soap and shampoo in the bathroom as well.
Overall great quality for the money.

What could be improved: Not really a bad thing, just a thing of preference: The beds were too soft for me and the mattresses were moving when turning around.
Our toilet was basically in the shower so the floor was wet.

  • Overall recommended! – Alina from Ukraine – July 25, 2024 (9/10)

Very clean! There was everything needed. Very convenient entering the apartment with the code.

What could be improved: The walls are thin and you can hear neighbours talking.

  • Very Good – Brett from United Kingdom – May 14, 2024 (8/10)

The bed, the room size, the nice bathroom, good temperature in bathroom, location

What could be improved: The shower head on the ceiling, if you stand underneath it, it sprays water outside the shower so the bathroom floor gets wetter unintentionally so you have to place a bunch of towels down. The safe didn’t work either, luckily my expensive items were safe

  • Great hotel for reasonable price with friendly and professional staff – Iwelina from United Kingdom – April 9, 2024 (8/10)

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, good amenities.

What could be improved: Cleanliness could be a bit better.

  • Lovely hotel – Jekaterina from Latvia – April 3, 2024 (9/10)

Super location: close to the old town and to the transport. Property is clean and cozy. Breakfast is rich and provides variety of dishes.

What could be improved: There’s no hairdryer

  • Very Good – Sarah from Ireland – December 3, 2023 (8/10)

Comfy beds, modern rooms, staff friendly

What could be improved: No matress protector on beds only thin loose sheet.. One lumpy pillow given each.. sofa bed was very hard. Booked 3 deluxe rooms 2 were very small compared to the 3rd one.
