Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Krakow’s Old Town, and most of them are either tourist traps charging premium prices for mediocre rooms, or they’re so “authentic” that you’re basically sleeping in a medieval dungeon. Apartment Katamaran is honestly different – it sits right on Tomasza Street, which is one of those perfect spots where you’re literally two minutes from the main square but you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups dragging their suitcases over cobblestones at 6 AM.

The apartment itself has this really nice balance going on. I mean, they’ve clearly put thought into the design without going overboard with that Instagram-perfect aesthetic that makes you afraid to actually use anything. The space feels lived-in but polished, you know? What really got me was the attention to practical details – like, there’s actually enough counter space in the kitchen to make coffee without playing Tetris with your stuff, and the shower has proper water pressure (honestly, after three days of disappointing showers in other places, this felt like a minor miracle). The windows face the street, so you get a bit of the Old Town energy without the full chaos of being directly on the market square. You’ll hear some footsteps and conversation, especially on weekend evenings, but it’s more charming than disruptive – sort of like having the city’s pulse right there without it keeping you awake.

Here’s what I’d tell anyone considering this place: if you’re the type who wants to duck into your own space between exploring Wawel Castle and the Jewish Quarter, this works perfectly. Tomasza connects you to everything – you can walk to St. Mary’s Basilica in about three minutes, but you can also slip down toward Kazimierz without dealing with the main tourist flow. The building itself is one of those beautifully restored Old Town structures, so you get the historical vibe without sacrificing modern comfort. Plus, and this might sound small, but the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. No confusing key pickup locations or awkward phone calls in broken English – just smooth and professional. The 9.8 rating honestly makes sense when you experience it, because it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Krakow, it’s just consistently doing everything right.

  Newly remodeled apartment. Smaller size, but well played out. Everything worked perfectly. Great shower with never ending hot water and high volume water pressure. Full kitchen amenities. Christian was fantastic and very accommodating, friendly, and eager to make our family stay a success. Location was PERFECT! Local parking for rental car close by and Christian can help you reserve it if needed. Breakfast restaurants within 2 meters of gate entrance…small market too. Trust me this is where you want to stay in Krakow if you are a family, want a great location and apartment, but don’t want to spend a fortune.

  The apartment was perfect, exactly like the photos, and provided everything mentioned on Booking. It was spotlessly clean, the heating system worked flawlessly, and the kitchen, like the rest of the house, was fully equipped with everything we needed! The location was ideal, right in the heart of the Old Town, with everything just a few minutes away on foot.Christian was an amazing host—very polite, friendly, and always ready to help with anything. He recommended fantastic places to visit in Krakow and was always easy to communicate with. We will definitely choose him again when we visit Krakow in the future!

  Location is perfect. Even though it is right near the main square, the road is really quiet.

  Christian is a super host! So attentive and helpful at all times. We were really grateful for his advice about tours etc.
  
  Being able to leave our bags as we had a later flight home was no problem so we could enjoy our last few hours in the city.
