Hotel Description

You know what? I almost walked past this place twice before I found it – Apartment Lenartowicza sits tucked away on a quiet residential street that feels worlds apart from the tourist chaos, even though you’re literally in Old Town. The building itself is one of those classic Krakow tenements with the heavy wooden door and that particular echo in the stairwell that makes you feel like you’re staying in someone’s actual neighborhood, not some sanitized hotel zone.

The apartment itself is honestly better than most 3-star places I’ve crashed in around Europe. It’s got this lived-in comfort that you don’t usually find in short-term rentals – like whoever set it up actually thought about how people live, not just where they sleep. The kitchen’s small but functional (I mean, you’re in Krakow, you’ll probably eat out most nights anyway), and the windows face the courtyard so it’s surprisingly quiet. I was worried about noise since Polish buildings can be… well, let’s just say the walls aren’t always thick. But even with my neighbor apparently moving furniture at midnight, it wasn’t bad.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on the location – you’re about a seven-minute walk from the Main Square, but you’re on the Planty side, which means you can actually breathe. Instead of fighting through the Floriańska Gate crowds, you just slip through the park and boom, you’re at St. Florian’s Gate before the tour groups even wake up. Plus, there’s this little grocery store right around the corner on Basztowa that the locals use, so you can grab actual Polish breakfast stuff instead of paying hotel prices for mediocre coffee. The walk to Wawel Castle is maybe fifteen minutes if you don’t get distracted by all the side streets (which, honestly, you will).

What I really appreciated was how straightforward everything was – clear instructions for getting in, responsive communication when I had questions, and none of that awkward “where do I put the keys” dance you sometimes get with apartment rentals. The rating of 8.7 makes total sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be fancy. It’s clean, comfortable, and positioned perfectly for someone who wants to experience Krakow like a temporary resident rather than a tourist checking boxes. Just pack light if you’ve got heavy bags – those old building stairs are no joke, and there’s definitely no elevator.

The concierge service in Krakow can arrange exclusive castle tours, secure classical concert tickets, and organize visits to nearby Wieliczka Salt Mine and Auschwitz Memorial.

  • Very Good – Lurdes from Portugal – December 9, 2024 (8/10)

Good location, perfect for a couple visiting the city. A bit far from the train station, but lots of buses or a 20 min walk.

What could be improved: It was a bit dusty and the entrance of the building is very old.

  • LENARTOWICZA – Mary from United Kingdom – June 2, 2023 (9/10)

Lovely clean and modern apartment, – located in a very old building, – with well equipped kitchen. Owners availabe to speak to if need anything. Good wifi, Netflix, and dvd's to use.

What could be improved: Was quite a walk away from centre of Krakow.,- especially when its dark…,- but could still find something to eat or drink in the streets behind apartment. Second bed needs reached by a vertical ladder.

  • Happy to stay here. – Petronella from Netherlands – June 25, 2023 (7/10)

Good location, great appartment, and we felt comfortable there. We also liked the secludedness and the balcony, on which we sat for a cup of tea for a while. Also, great location.

What could be improved: There weren't that many supplies for cooking, there could have been some more (better) pans for instance, and the microwave was hard to reach. Finally, the doorbell rang a couple of times out of nowhere, probably to let others into the main door? We were a bit startled by this.

  • Doskonałe mieszkanie – Dominika from Poland – August 7, 2025 (10/10)

Mieszkanie było bardzo czyste i dobrze wyposażone. Lokalizacja w miłej okolicy oraz parę minut spacerem od rynku głównego. Z chęcią jeszcze tutaj wrócimy.
