The bathroom was small but functional – hot water came fast, though the shower head had one of those European quirks where you sort of have to hold it just right to get good pressure. The bed was comfortable enough, and I slept well despite being a pretty light sleeper usually.

What really sold me on the location was how walkable everything turned out to be. You’re literally a five-minute stroll from the main square where all the tourist stuff happens, but somehow you’re just removed enough that you’re not dealing with crowds of people wheeling suitcases past your window at all hours. I could walk to at least six different restaurants without breaking a sweat, including this little family-run place that doesn’t even have a sign – just look for the one with the red door and the old man who sits outside reading newspapers. The whole area has this lived-in feel where actual residents are going about their daily business, which I found way more interesting than those sanitized hotel districts. Parking was trickier than I expected though – street spots are pretty competitive, and I ended up using a small lot about three blocks away that cost maybe 8 euros a day. Check-in was straightforward, met the owner who spoke decent English and gave me some solid recommendations for avoiding the tourist traps. Overall, it’s the kind of place where you get good value for what you pay, especially if you want to feel like you’re staying in the neighborhood rather than just visiting it.
