Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Apartment Świetego Tomasza? Walking up to this 14th-century building on one of Krakow’s most atmospheric streets and realizing you’re actually going to be staying inside a piece of living history. I mean, Św Tomasza street is basically Old Town’s quiet cousin – close enough to everything that matters but tucked away from the tourist chaos that engulfs the main square during peak season.
The apartment itself honestly surprised me with how thoughtfully it’s been renovated. Someone clearly spent time getting the details right – the exposed brick walls aren’t just for Instagram (though they photograph beautifully), and the modern amenities actually work, which isn’t always a given in these historic conversions. The kitchen’s compact but functional, and I appreciated having proper coffee-making equipment after too many hotel stays with those terrible pod machines. What really sold me was the bathroom – heated floors, which you’ll absolutely appreciate if you’re visiting during Krakow’s brutal winters. The whole place feels more like borrowing a local friend’s apartment than staying in typical tourist accommodation.
Location-wise, you’re about a three-minute walk to St. Mary’s Basilica, but here’s the thing locals know – you can cut through the little courtyard passages to avoid the crowds on Floriańska street entirely. There’s this excellent pierogi place, Pierogarnia Krakowiacy, literally around the corner that most tourists never find because they stick to the main drags. The apartment’s on the second floor (no elevator, just so you know), but the stairwell has this gorgeous original stonework that makes the climb feel less annoying. Parking’s tricky – I mean, it’s Old Town, so that’s expected – but there’s a decent-sized lot about five minutes away near the Planty gardens if you’re driving in.
Honestly, the 8.9 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s that sweet spot where you get authentic Krakow character without sacrificing comfort, and the price point sits right where it should for what you’re getting. The only minor complaint I’d have is that weekend nights can get a bit lively since you’re surrounded by restaurants and bars – but if you’re the type who goes to bed at 9 PM, maybe Old Town isn’t your vibe anyway. Plus, those thick medieval walls do muffle most of the noise once you close the windows.
To book a hotel in Krakow during peak medieval festival season, travelers need early planning as this historic capital draws visitors eager to experience its UNESCO World Heritage old town and royal heritage.

Exceptional – Levavi from Israel – August 3, 2024 (10/10)
Great location. The apartment is very spacious, comfy beds. Very clean.
Beautifully appointed clean apt close to the main square and with an elevator. – Karen from United States – July 11, 2024 (9/10)
We loved the location, it is very close to the main square and quiet enough that we slept well. The apt. was very clean and appropriate. Bonus elevator so no lugging luggage upstairs. We loved the washer and soap provided, Thank You! Coffee and tea, a water kettle, fridge, oven, it was just perfect. There was even a small balcony my husband would sit out on in the morning and evenings. Loved the large rooms and the beds were comfortable. This is a place I would stay at again, no problem. The host was so patient even when called in the middle of the night.
What could be improved: Ok, there was a sort of miscommunication on how to get into the apt. We arrived very late, 0100 AM. I had my app open with "directions" that stated someone would be there to greet me. Well it was dark and we could not get in. Our driver needed to go as it was so late, but he was a doll to stay until he knew we had somewhere to go. My daughter actually found a phone number to call, and it wasn't the one in the app, that one didn't work. The woman answered almost immediately and explained an email with directions had been sent; to this day, I have not found the email. But she did text us the info on how to get the keys. The two locks to the door were another issue. It literally took us 15 minutes of playing with them and finally calling her again; Yikes, I was so sorry to do that! She again kindly explained how to open these weird locks. After we got in, we all fell into bed and the next morning my husband had the door open learning the two locks. They worked beautifully after that. I would have given it a 10, but my husband was not happy the night we arrived as we had been traveling all day. It was scary not being able to get in and wondering about our noise level.Excellent. Great city, location and accommodation. – David from United Kingdom – July 6, 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: WiFi instructionsA wonderful spacious apartment. – Jane from Denmark – May 29, 2024 (10/10)
Wonderful place with a perfect location.
A very spacious apartment and with the extra small toilet it was perfect for a group-travel like ours.
What could be improved: A lock on the bathroom door would have been nice 😉Wonderful stay – great apartment in a terrific location! – Jane from United States – January 15, 2024 (9/10)
Property was in a great location, we walked to everything. We had one minor issue that was quickly resolved in a very satisfactory manner by the hosts. Lots of space to spread out, well supplied kitchen! Great stay!
What could be improved: Nothing.Clean, warm apartment in central location. – Jan from United Kingdom – December 10, 2023 (9/10)
Very comfortable rooms, light and airy but warm at all times. Very clean, plenty of towels and an added bonus of a shower room with toilet and wash basin and a separate toilet. Kitchen was well equipped, although it could have done with a couple of wooden spoons and spatulas. Plenty of complimentary tea and coffee and we were left a welcome snack of kitkats ! There was a balcony but we didnt go out onto it as it was thick snow
Short walk to the main square and only 10 minute walk to the main rail station. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and good choice of cuisines.
What could be improved: They only down side was trying to open the door to the apartment. We had a key code to get into the building then a keycode to get the key safe open. – that was straightforward – opening the locks wasn't. Obviously we managed it in the end and it in no way detracted from the stay. Hopefully next time we go this will have been sorted.Perfect – Hilary from United Kingdom – November 21, 2023 (10/10)
Location was just perfect, communication from owner was perfect and very very helpful. The appartment was very clean, loads of space and everything you need.
What could be improved: Only one negative was getting in with keys – it was not easy to open door to appartment. One of our party (six of us) could get in, but rest of us never worked it out!!!! Did not matter at all as we were always as a group but may have been problem if not! (te rest of the appartment made up for this however).Excellent spot. – Lily from Ireland – November 12, 2023 (10/10)
The location is excellent. An ideal apartment for a group of family/friends. Apartment owner was very responsive, any text or call was answered promptly. Would recommend apartment to anyone.
What could be improved: The front door is a bit tricky to begin with but once you get the hang of it, it’s fine..Great stay – Alona from Israel – October 10, 2023 (9/10)
The apartment was big and didn't lack anything. There was hot water and the apartment was warm. I the center of the city.
What could be improved: The floor made a noise. You can't close the windows from light – it was very difficult to put a baby for day dream in day light and the curtains are transparent.Location in the heart of old town – Halim from Poland – October 10, 2023 (10/10)
Location. Very spacious apartment
What could be improved: Nothing
