Honestly, when I first walked up to Krowoderska 5, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an “entresol” apartment – turns out it’s basically a mezzanine-level space, and in this old Krakow building, it actually works perfectly. The location is ridiculous in the best way possible. You’re literally in the heart of Old Town, which means you can stumble out your door and be at the Main Square (Rynek Główny) in about three minutes on foot. I mean, you’re close enough that you’ll hear the hourly trumpet call from St. Mary’s Basilica, but far enough down Krowoderska that you won’t get the full blast of tourist chaos right outside your window.

What really got me was how this place manages to feel authentically Polish without trying too hard. The entresol setup gives you these interesting ceiling angles and cozy nooks that make it feel more like staying in someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental. The building itself has that satisfying creak of old wooden floors – you know, the kind that makes you feel connected to centuries of people who’ve walked these same halls. And the practical stuff? Well, parking in Old Town is always going to be a nightmare (just accept it and use the paid lots), but honestly, you won’t need a car anyway. Everything worth seeing is walkable, and if you want to venture out to Kazimierz or Podgórze, trams are everywhere.

The apartment gets that 9.5 rating for good reason – it’s one of those places where someone clearly thought through what actual travelers need. You’ve got proper blackout options for those summer nights when the sun doesn’t set until nearly 9 PM, decent water pressure (not always a given in these old buildings), and the kitchen is actually functional if you want to grab some pierogi from the market and heat them up. Plus, being on Krowoderska puts you on one of those side streets where locals actually live and work, so you’ll pass the same baker and corner shop each day instead of just souvenir stores. The building’s entrance has that classic Krakow courtyard feel – you walk through an archway and suddenly you’re in this quieter space that feels removed from the street energy. Just be prepared for narrow stairs (typical for buildings this old) and the fact that “entresol” means you’re not quite on the ground floor, not quite on the first floor – but honestly, it makes the whole space feel more unique than your standard hotel box.

  The apartment is really lovely inside with great character. The location is really excellent, just a few minutes walk to the old town. Great communication from host and easy to access the property. Also, the apartment is very well equipped and has everything you need and is super clean. Just be aware that the second sleeping area is on the raised area, although this suited our family well it might not be for everyone. Loved the views over the rooftops and a very comfortable living room area with lots of space. Everything was well presented.
  
  What could be improved: As others have mentioned the apartment is at the top of the building with a lot of stairs. It would likely be an issue for anyone with mobility issues.

  Great location, very handy for visiting the old town area. The apartment was on the top floor, very modern and spacious. The host was super friendly and allowed us to store our luggage on our final day. All in all I'd happily stay here again.

  This is a beautiful apartment. Spotlessly clean, with real character. It felt like a proper home from home. Very well supplied with tea, coffee, detergent etc. Communications with Anna were excellent. I've stayed in many apartments over the years but this was definitely one of the very best.
  Not a problem for us, but the flat is up quite a few flights of stairs, so might not be suitable for someone who is frail or unfit. But it was perfect for our needs.
