Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Apartment Zegadłowicza? The address itself – I mean, most tourists can barely pronounce Zegadłowicza, but locals will nod approvingly when you mention it. It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street that feels worlds apart from the tourist chaos around the Main Square, yet you’re literally a seven-minute walk to all the Old Town action. The building has that classic Krakow character – you know, the kind where you wonder if the stairs have been climbed by centuries of residents before you.

Honestly, this place gets a 9.9 rating for good reason, and after staying here, I actually get it. The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish friend let you crash at their place – not sterile like most hotels, but thoughtfully put together. The kitchen actually works (shocking, I know), which is perfect because there’s a small grocery store just around the corner on Starowiślna if you want to grab some local bread and cheese. What really impressed me was the attention to details that matter – proper blackout curtains (essential if you’re jet-lagged), decent water pressure, and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes. The windows face away from the main street, so you’re not dealing with the late-night revelry that echoes through other parts of Old Town. I mean, you can still hear the occasional tram from Starowiślna, but it’s more of a gentle city hum than actual noise.

The location is honestly brilliant if you know Krakow at all. You’re positioned perfectly between the Planty gardens and the Vistula – step out the door and you can either head toward Wawel Castle (which looks absolutely magical at sunset, by the way) or walk the other direction toward the Jewish Quarter. There’s this little café called Karma just a few blocks away that serves the best pierogi I had during my entire stay, and you’ll stumble across it naturally just wandering the neighborhood. Parking can be tricky around here – well, it’s tricky everywhere in Old Town – but the host actually gives you solid advice about where to find spots. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too; none of that awkward hovering around waiting for someone to show up. The whole experience feels more like staying in a local’s apartment than dealing with typical hotel bureaucracy, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually experience Krakow rather than just pass through it.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Krakow at least two months ahead for major events like cultural festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near Market Square.

The apartment is located in a quiet area, in the old town. It has everything you need including a PS 4 (big plus for my daughter), coffee, shower gel, AC in every room (in case you need it) and so one.

  • Perfect rental in Kracow ❤️ – Elena from Romania – June 7, 2025 (10/10)

Excellent location (a beautiful building near the old town, yet on a quiet street), beautiful apartment (great architecture, very good quality finishing, all appliances a family would need, entertainment system), and the most important: gracious, kind and helpful host Gabriel! It really felt like visiting a good friend. We got the best advice for any question (events, restaurants, tours, tickets)., no matter the time. Strongly recommended!!!

  • Excellent Stay! – Claire from United Kingdom – April 21, 2025 (10/10)

The apartment is in a great location, only a 5-10 minute walk to the Old Town Square.
Gabriel is a fantastic host, providing us with recommendations on places to eat and visit. There are so many food places in the town, so it was good to have some recommendations and they were spot on!.
The apartment is lovely, it is in a quiet residential area, and fully equipped.
We can't wait to go back to Krakow and stay at Gabriel's apartment.

What could be improved: Nothing, everything was fantastic.

  • Lovely central apartment with parking and a nice host – Klára from Czech Republic – April 17, 2025 (10/10)

The apartment met all our expectations. We were 4 adults so we were a bit worried about the sleeping couch but it's big enough for two people so we got a good night's rest. The host (Gabriel) is extremely friendly and shared with us a lot of useful tips about the surroundings and good restaurants to go to. The location is also super convenient and very central. We also used the parking space provided by the host (it is not in the same building but about 120meters away). I would definitely stay in the accommodation again.

  • Excellent, welcoming host – made the stay feel like a holiday home – Yvonne from Ireland – December 9, 2024 (10/10)

Everything – location: less than 10 mins walk to the main square. Shops, restaurants and tram line just round the corner. Apartment: Beautiful, clean and so quiet. Heating was easy to control, and air conditioner in the bedroom and living room, which we didn't need in winter. The main bed was just perfect – not too hard, not too soft. The sofa bed was easy to convert, big and comfortable for our 2 teens. All utensils available if planning on cooking. Massive TV with all extra streaming channels, great Wifi. Host: Gabriel is the most amazing host you'll ever find – great communication before arrival, clear directions and let us leave our luggage in the apartment earlier than stated check-in time. Gave suggestions for nice and reasonable restaurants. And most amazingly, let us stay late as our flight wasn't till 5:20 and he had no bookings for that night. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, Gabriel. We'll most definitely be back!

What could be improved: Didn't get to stay long enough!
