Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Apartments GO Rakowicka when I first booked it – the name’s a bit of a mouthful, right? But walking up to the building on Rakowicka Street, I actually got pretty excited. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Main Market Square, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize: you’re on the perfect side of Old Town where you get all the medieval charm without the constant buzz of tour groups stumbling back from the bars at 2am.

The apartment itself surprised me in the best way. I mean, you know how some places look amazing online and then you walk in and everything feels… cheap? Not here. The floors have this solid, substantial feel under your feet, and whoever designed these spaces actually thought about how people live. The kitchen isn’t just for show – there’s proper counter space and the fridge actually fits more than a sad sandwich and some water bottles. What really got me though was how quiet it stays at night. Sure, you’re in the heart of one of Europe’s most popular cities, but Rakowicka runs parallel to the main tourist flow, so you get the convenience without feeling like you’re sleeping in the middle of a street festival. The windows are decent quality too, which honestly makes all the difference when those church bells start going off at dawn (and trust me, they will).

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I arrived: the building entrance isn’t super obvious from the street, so don’t panic if you’re wheeling your suitcase around looking lost for a few minutes. Also, if you’re planning to explore beyond Old Town – and you should, because Kazimierz is absolutely worth the trip – you’re perfectly positioned. The walk to the Jewish Quarter takes maybe fifteen minutes, and you’ll pass some of those tiny family-run pierogi joints that don’t make it into guidebooks but probably should. I ended up at the same little place three times because their ruskie pierogi were just… well, you’ll see. The whole area feels lived-in rather than preserved-for-tourists, if that makes sense. You’ll see actual Cracovians heading to work in the morning, not just people clutching maps and looking confused. With an 8.7 rating, I figured it had to be doing something right, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Krakow, but it nails the things that actually matter when you’re trying to experience a city rather than just check it off a list.

  Everything is fine. We are very happy with furniture from IKEA and oven from Bosh.
  
  What could be improved: There were paper towels at the kitchen but we also wanted to see something like a superabsorbent dishcloth or Swedish dishcloth (at least one). This absorbent dishcloth is very useful to clean the table and kitchen countertop.

  What could be improved: The above apartment probably has children and you can hear them running late evenings.
  Another thing a few times during my stay someone was ringing the apartment bell at 1:00 in the morning could see him from camera, did not open the door.
