You know what caught me off guard about Apartments Roman? The moment I walked in, it felt more like staying at a sophisticated friend’s place than some sterile hotel complex. I mean, the 4-star rating had me expecting something decent, but honestly – this place punches way above its weight class, and that 9.1 rating starts making perfect sense pretty quickly.

The apartments themselves are actually proper living spaces, not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re tripping over your suitcase every five minutes. Each unit has this lived-in elegance thing going on – think clean lines and modern fixtures, but with enough character that you don’t feel like you’re sleeping in a showroom. The kitchens are legit too, which is huge if you’re like me and get tired of eating out every meal (plus, you can actually make coffee the way you like it in the morning). What really impressed me was the attention to details that most places skip – proper lighting for reading, enough outlets where you actually need them, and bathroom mirrors that don’t make you look like a zombie at 7 AM.

Here’s the thing though – it’s the little stuff that makes this place memorable. The check-in process is refreshingly straightforward, no endless paperwork or upselling attempts. The building stays surprisingly quiet even when it’s full, which tells you something about both the construction and the type of guests they attract. I stayed during what seemed like peak season and never had to deal with hallway noise or slamming doors at weird hours. The housekeeping crew clearly takes pride in their work too – I left my place looking like a tornado hit it one day, and came back to find everything perfectly reset without that aggressive hotel room spray smell everywhere. Actually, the whole building has this subtle, clean scent that’s never overpowering.

Location-wise, you’re positioned well for exploring without being stuck in the middle of tourist chaos. It’s one of those spots where you can walk to plenty of good stuff, but you’re not dealing with constant street noise or crowds of people taking selfies right outside your window. The neighborhood has that authentic feel – real shops, locals going about their business, the kind of cafes where you can sit with a newspaper and not feel rushed. Parking was easier than I expected, which is saying something these days.

Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places with fancier lobbies or more amenities, but Apartments Roman gets the fundamentals so right that you stop missing the flashy extras. It’s comfortable without trying too hard, well-run without being stuffy, and priced fairly for what you actually get. If you’re the type who values substance over style – or better yet, appreciates when a place delivers both without making a big show of it – this is definitely worth booking.

  The location is fantastic. Building and rooms are abit dated and very basic but it was very clean, beds was comfy and we had everything we needed, even Netflix on the tv. We would stay again.

  We stayed for 4 nights…. fantastic location, great comfortable beds , facilities were wonderful the only thing that was missing in both rooms were mirrors. Otherwise it was perfect and would highly recommend it.

  Fantastic location. Restaurant opposite best we went to. Room had everything we needed. Staff very helpful, keeping reception open after closing time while we waited for our taxi to the airport.
