You know what surprised me most about AR Apartments on Zwierzyniecka? It’s tucked right into Old Town but feels like you stumbled onto something locals actually know about – not one of those tourist traps that charge you €8 for instant coffee. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the main square, but somehow this little stretch of street has this almost residential vibe where you’ll see actual Krakovians heading to work in the morning.

The building itself is one of those beautifully restored places where they kept all the character but actually made everything work properly (trust me, that’s rarer than you’d think in Polish Old Towns). My apartment had these gorgeous high ceilings and original hardwood floors that creaked just enough to feel authentic without keeping you up at night. The kitchen was honestly better equipped than my place back home – proper coffee machine, decent knives, even a dishwasher. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because there’s a little market on Grodzka Street where you can grab fresh bread and those incredible Polish mushrooms.

What really sold me though was how quiet it gets at night. During the day you’ll hear some street noise – mostly just people walking by, maybe the occasional tram in the distance – but after about 10 PM it’s surprisingly peaceful for being so central. The staff clearly knows their stuff too; when I mentioned I was trying to find this specific pierogi place my friend had recommended, the guy at reception didn’t just give me directions, he actually called ahead to make sure they were open that day. These little touches matter when you’re trying to make the most of a short trip.

I’ll be honest, parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving (Old Town streets weren’t exactly designed for cars), but there’s a decent garage about five minutes away, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car anyway. Everything worth seeing is walkable, and the 24-hour reception means you don’t have to worry about getting locked out after a late dinner in Kazimierz. The whole setup just works – it’s like having a really nice local friend who happens to have a spare apartment in the perfect spot.

Hotel in Krakow booking should be done early, especially during summer season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed cultural festivals and medieval celebrations.

  Everything is perfect. Well equipped and very kind owner. Good location, just a few minutes walk to the castle through the park and less than 10 mins walk to old town street. Very good Indian restaurant nearby and many good restaurants. Very convenient.

  Very clean and cozy apartment. Location was 10/10. 5-7 minute walk to the main square, but without all the late night noise. The street also has great food options and cafes
  
  What could be improved: The property was great. If I had to be critical, I would say the balcony was less than I hoped for. It is French doors that open with a railing the other side. Nothing to actually step out onto. That said, my room was the more affordable option.
