You know what struck me first about Atticus Apartments? The building itself – it’s this beautifully restored historic property right on Siemiradzkiego, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting something so polished in Old Town without the typical tourist trap vibe. The entrance has this understated elegance that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something the locals are trying to keep secret.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Krakow at all. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Main Square, but here’s the thing – you’re just far enough away that you don’t get the constant stream of tour groups and street performers until 2 AM. I mean, you can still hear a bit of the evening buzz from the direction of Floriańska Street, but it’s more atmospheric than disruptive. The apartment I stayed in had these gorgeous high ceilings and original hardwood floors that creaked just enough to remind you you’re in a 19th-century building, but everything else – the kitchen, bathroom, all the fixtures – was completely modern. They’ve done that perfect balance where you get the charm without sacrificing comfort.

What really impressed me was how they’ve thought about the details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The kitchen had proper coffee (not those terrible instant packets), the shower pressure was fantastic, and there’s decent soundproofing between units. Plus, if you’re traveling in summer, the courtyard stays surprisingly cool – something about the way these old buildings are designed. The staff was refreshingly straightforward too; no overly enthusiastic concierge routine, just helpful people who actually know the neighborhood. They pointed me toward this little bakery on Krupnicza that I never would have found otherwise, and honestly, that’s worth more than any fancy lobby amenities. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the stairs can be a bit much if you’re on the third floor with heavy luggage, but that’s pretty standard for these historic buildings in Old Town. With a 9.4 rating, they’re clearly doing something right – and after staying there, I get why people keep coming back.

  Tomasz was really fantastic host, he was there to meet us when we arrived even though it was late at night, and helped with us our luggage and settle in. He gave us tips and recommendations on what to see and do in the area. The apartment was as described. It was homey, clean and spacious. It had everything we needed. It is also conveniently located next to a tram stop.

  What could be improved: There are a few small things missing: a water filter, cooking utensils (the frying pans that are in the apartment are not of the best quality), the water does not drain very well into the shower drain, and it periodically leaks onto the floor.

  The apartment was exactly as advertised, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. There are 3 flights of stairs which we did know about and no lift, but Tomasz met us at the building and very kindly carried our suitcases upstairs, he also came when we were checking out and carried them down for us. Tomasz is an amazing host, he also sent us links to transport and gave great advice. We would stay here again if we come back to Krakow.

  the apartment is really clean and comfy, spacious bathroom + has a washing machine, spacious kitchen which has everything for you to cook and insanely comfy beds! the owner of the place, Tomas, was really friendly and kind, he gave us advice on how to get around the city and the attractions we were interested in. 2 minutes by walk to bus/tram station “plac inwalidów” which makes it really convenient to get around the city! :3

  Fantastic host – Tomas is amazing, very kind and helpful. Apartment building is beautiful with lovely frescoes decorating the walls and ceilings of the stairwell. The apartment itself was very clean, comfortable and beautifully designed and decorated.

  The apartment was very spacious, clean and light. There were 2 rooms with lot of space and all needed equipment in the kitchen, the host is amazing and very friendly. The location is super central, walking distance from Old City and the street itself is very quiet and quite safe, there are plenty of places around with bus and tram stops nearby.
  The overall experience is amazing, recommend 1000%
  
  What could be improved: The overall stay was excellent but be careful if you afraid of spiders as we saw 2 big ones there and be careful with your head as this is the top floor (mansard) apartment with no elevator although host was super friendly and helped with my luggage during check in and check out.
