The building itself has that classic Polish charm without trying too hard, and honestly, the location alone makes this place worth considering. You’re literally steps away from everything that matters in the historic center.

Here’s what I love about staying here — you can walk to the Main Market Square in about three minutes, maybe five if you’re stopping to admire the architecture along the way. The Jewish Quarter (Kazimierz) is an easy stroll too, which is perfect because that’s where some of the best bars and restaurants are hiding. What really surprised me was how quiet Karmelicka Street actually is, despite being so central. You get all the benefits of the location without the constant tourist noise that plagues some of the main thoroughfares.

Your Room and Comfort

The rooms here are what I’d call “smart small” — they’ve made excellent use of the space without making you feel cramped. Each room has a clean, modern design that doesn’t clash with the building’s historic character, which can be tricky to pull off. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are well-appointed with good water pressure. You know what’s really nice? The windows actually open properly, so you can get fresh air when you want it instead of being stuck with recycled AC all the time.

Practical Perks

One thing that sets Avanti Palazzo apart from other Old Town hotels is the private parking on site. If you’re driving in Kraków — and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it for sightseeing but sometimes you need a car — this is a huge advantage. Most places in the center either don’t have parking at all or charge ridiculous rates for it. The staff here actually knows the city well too, not just the tourist highlights but the kind of local spots that make a trip memorable.

With a 9.3 rating, this place clearly gets something right, and after staying here, I think it’s the combination of location and value. You’re paying three-star prices for what feels like a four-star location — couples especially seem to appreciate this, rating the location 9.8 for romantic trips. The Old Town can be overwhelming with choices, but Avanti Palazzo strikes that sweet spot between being central enough to matter and comfortable enough to actually relax. It’s the kind of place where you spend your days exploring Kraków’s incredible history and culture, then come back to a genuinely pleasant base that doesn’t break the budget.
