Hotel Description
You know what? The Campanile Krakow Old Town really surprised me. I’ll be honest, when I first saw it was a 3-star chain hotel, I wasn’t expecting much – but this place actually gets it right in ways that matter. The location alone makes it worth considering, especially if you want to be close to all the Old Town action without paying those ridiculous boutique hotel prices.
What I loved most was how walkable everything felt from here. You can literally stroll to the Main Square in about ten minutes (I timed it), and you’ll pass some of those little side streets where locals actually hang out – not just the touristy stuff. The morning walk to grab coffee near St. Mary’s Basilica became this nice little routine. The hotel sits in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to hear the Hejnał trumpet call from the tower if your window’s open, but far enough that you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your room at 2 AM. Actually, speaking of rooms – mine was surprisingly quiet for being so central. The walls seemed pretty solid, and I’m someone who usually travels with earplugs.
The staff here genuinely seemed to know their city, which you don’t always get at chain places. When I asked about getting to Kazimierz district, the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward a taxi – he actually sketched out the tram route and mentioned which stops had the best pierogi places nearby (he wasn’t wrong). Check-in was smooth, no weird hidden fees, and they had that European breakfast setup that’s simple but done well. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind, but the coffee was strong and they had actual local honey, not those little plastic packets. The room itself felt clean and functional – good shower pressure, decent Wi-Fi, and honestly, after walking around Krakow all day, that comfortable bed was exactly what I needed. Sometimes you don’t want to overthink it, you know? One small thing that bugged me was the elevator – it’s one of those tiny European ones that takes forever, but honestly, most buildings in this part of the city have the same issue. The 8.3 rating makes total sense to me because this place delivers on the basics really well without trying to be something it’s not. If you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city anyway, this gives you a solid home base that won’t eat up your entire travel budget.

The location for Krakow old town is superb. The hotel is currently halfway through a refurb, some of the 6 rooms we had were done and were really nice.

I stayed here with my 6 year old for 2 nights. We loved it’s location. Great, simple room. Perfect for our needs. One of the reasons I chose it is it has its own underground car park. There’s also 3/4 spaces above ground.

This was a budget trip for us so we had low expectations, however, we are now so glad we found the Campanile. Great location, excellent value for money and really friendly staff. We have been to Krakow before and have stayed at more expensive hotels, however, when we return we will use the Campanile again as it offers such value. We didn’t sample the breakfast or lunch menu, however, the prices were very reasonable. All members of staff that we met were friendly, helpful and welcoming.
