Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked into Central Palace – LoftAffair Collection. The name sounds a bit pretentious, doesn’t it? But you know what, sometimes places surprise you. This 4-star spot has this really interesting vibe where they’ve taken what feels like an old building (I’m guessing early 1900s based on the ceiling height and those gorgeous original moldings) and turned it into something that actually works for modern travelers.

The loft-style rooms are where this place really shines – and I mean that literally because the natural light is incredible. Most of the suites have these massive windows that make even a gloomy day feel bright. The exposed brick isn’t just for show either; it actually gives the space some character without feeling like they’re trying too hard to be trendy. I stayed in one of the corner units and, well, let me just say the bathroom alone was bigger than some hotel rooms I’ve been in. The shower pressure is fantastic (always important to mention, right?), and they’ve got this rainfall showerhead that actually delivers what it promises. What I really appreciated was the kitchenette setup – not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation, but an actual stovetop and decent counter space. Perfect if you’re staying for more than a couple nights or just want to make coffee that doesn’t taste like hotel lobby coffee.

The service here is where that 9.2 rating starts making sense. Check-in was smooth – no standing around waiting while they “locate your reservation” – and the front desk staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about dinner spots. They pointed me toward this little bistro about three blocks away that I never would have found otherwise (and honestly, it ended up being one of the best meals of my trip). The housekeeping team is thorough without being intrusive, and I love that they don’t automatically replace towels every single day unless you ask – it’s a small thing, but it shows they’re thinking about waste. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle depending on when you arrive, but there’s a garage two streets over that’s reasonably priced, and they’ll actually call ahead to reserve you a spot if you ask nicely. The only minor complaint I have is that the walls aren’t quite as soundproof as you’d hope – I could hear my neighbors’ TV pretty clearly the first night, though it wasn’t enough to actually keep me awake. Overall, this place gets the balance right between having personality and being genuinely comfortable, which is harder to find than you’d think.

  Very modern apartment in a great location close to the old town. Lovely toiletries and add-ons such as a small kitchen with tea/coffee facilities.

  EVERYTHING! First of all, perfectly located, beautifully decorated, nice view, very warm for the freezing weather outside, very comfortable and clean, the shower amazing. I think is the best place to stay at Cracow.

  The location is perfect. Walk onto the train at the airport. 20 minutes arrive at Krakow Central Station in the Old Towm. Then 5 minute walk to the Central Palace. The style and decor is top 5 star hotel quality. The extra space in the one bedroom apartment is definitely worth the extra cost.
