I was expecting another cramped Old Town apartment with creaky floors and questionable wifi, but honestly, apartment B at Józefa Sarego 25 completely changed my mind about renovated properties in Krakow. The moment I walked up to the building – and yes, it’s one of those classic Krakow buildings with the heavy wooden door and worn stone steps – I could tell someone had put real thought into this renovation. The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish cousin did the interior design, not some corporate hotel chain. Everything’s been updated but they kept the character, you know? High ceilings, original hardwood floors that actually don’t creak when you walk across them at 2 AM (trust me, I tested this), and windows that face a quiet courtyard instead of the tourist chaos on the main streets.

What I really loved – and this is something you won’t get from the booking photos – is how perfectly positioned you are for exploring without being stuck in the absolute madness of the Market Square area. Sarego street is one of those Old Town gems that locals actually use as a shortcut, so you’ll see real Cracovians heading to work with their morning coffee instead of just selfie-stick wielding tour groups. It’s maybe a four-minute walk to the main square (I timed it because I’m weird like that), but far enough away that you won’t hear the horse carriages clattering by at dawn. The Planty park is literally right there too – that green ring around the Old Town that’s perfect for morning runs or evening walks when you need a break from cobblestones. I mean, you can grab fresh bread from the little bakery on Grodzka street, coffee from one of the specialty shops near St. Mary’s, and be back having breakfast on your apartment’s dining table before most hotel guests have figured out their breakfast voucher situation.

Here’s what sealed it for me though – the practical stuff that actually matters when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night. The shower has proper water pressure (seriously, this is rare in Old Town), the kitchen is equipped well enough that I could cook actual meals instead of living on pierogi and zapiekanka, and the wifi reaches every corner of the place. Plus, and this might sound small, but the check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no standing in lobby lines or dealing with key cards that stop working every time you look at them wrong. The 9.5 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not trying to be some luxury palace, but it nails everything a 3-star place should do while giving you that authentic Krakow living experience. If you’re the type who wants to feel like a temporary local rather than a tourist passing through, this is exactly what you’re looking for.

  The apartment is beautiful, everything looks to be new, clean and modern. Especially lightning is nice and stylish. The location is perfect as well. Really close to the Old town and all main attractions (10-15 mins of walking)
  
  What could be improved: We were missing insect nets because without air condition there was quite warm inside the flat so we had to open windows and then we had some mosquito bites after night. During our trip it was 32°C at noon. But it was only small problem.

  Czyściutkie, stylowo i wykończone mieszkanie. Wyposażenie jest wysokiej jakości. Dobrze wysmakowany eklektyzm. Dobra lokalizacja 10 min na Wawel. Co ważne osłonięte innymi budynkami od ulicy, więc jest cicho.
  
  What could be improved: Polowanie na miejsce do parkowania i tzw części wspólne stanowczo wymagające remontu. Nie jest to jednak nic nadzwyczajnego w starych kamienicach.
