Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to City of the Kings on Rakowicka, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the entrance is tucked away in this quiet residential stretch that feels worlds apart from the tourist chaos around the Main Square, even though you’re literally a ten-minute walk from all the action. But that’s actually what makes this place so brilliant. You get this gorgeous leaf-themed apartment (hence the name, I’m guessing) that feels like your own little sanctuary in Old Town without paying those insane prices right on the Rynek.
The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious for European standards, and I mean that in the best way possible. There’s this attention to detail that you don’t always get with vacation rentals – proper blackout curtains that actually work, a kitchen stocked with more than just a sad kettle, and honestly some of the most comfortable bedding I’ve had in Poland. The whole leaf motif runs throughout without being cheesy about it, sort of elegant and understated. What really got me though was stepping out onto that little balcony in the morning with coffee and realizing you’re looking out over authentic Krakow life – locals heading to work, kids walking to school, the sounds of the neighborhood waking up. It’s real in a way that those fancy hotel views of tourist attractions just… aren’t.
Location-wise, you’re golden here. Rakowicka puts you close enough to walk everywhere that matters – the castle, the Jewish Quarter, all those incredible restaurants in Kazimierz – but far enough that you can actually sleep at night without drunk tourists singing outside your window at 3am. The tram stop is right there if your feet give out (trust me, they will after a day of cobblestones), and there’s a Żabka convenience store literally around the corner for those late-night snack emergencies. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but honestly, who drives in Krakow’s Old Town anyway? The whole setup just works. I’ve stayed in fancier places that felt sterile, and cheaper places that felt sketchy, but this hits that sweet spot where you’re comfortable, safe, and actually experiencing the city like someone who lives there. Plus, with a 9.1 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who thinks they’ve got something special going on here.
Apartments in Krakow provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Polish markets and cook with regional Galician specialties.

First time in Krakow… love it!! – Stephen from Australia – July 4, 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was clean and spacious for a family of 4. Pretty close to PKP Train Station/MDM Bus Station. Bed and a sofa bed were very comfortable with plenty of space for luggage and storage for clothes. A nice surprise was the balcony, which was good for
drying clothes and to sit on at the end of the day.

Clean, tidy, contemporary apartment. Well connected to the centre of town.
What could be improved: Nothing to complain really. Blackout blinds would be a good addition.Very Good – David from United Kingdom – August 16, 2023 (8/10)
Great location, close to transport bars and restaurants.Good size apartment with a nice contemporary feel in good condition with a large balcony.
What could be improved: Unfortunately the floor hadn't been cleaned properly inside and out which was disappointing and there was only one wine glass.Exceptional – Anne from Denmark – July 10, 2023 (10/10)
Really nice and clean. Close to train station, shopping mall and old town.
What could be improved: We had to walk by a lot of homeless people on our way to town, close to the apartment. Unfortunately we had some issues with one of them, and therefore needed to find another road away from the apartment. But everything else was really good!
