You know what caught me off guard about the City of the Kings – Old Depot Apartment? The name actually makes sense once you’re there. Tucked away on Dajwór street in Krakow’s Old Town, this place has this subtle industrial vibe that feels deliberate rather than trendy. I mean, you’re literally steps from the main square – and I’m talking like a genuine two-minute walk to the Cloth Hall, not that “walking distance” nonsense hotels usually throw around.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste and knows how to treat guests. It’s got that 4-star polish without being stuffy about it. Honestly, the 8.7 rating makes sense because while everything works perfectly and looks great, it’s not trying to be some glossy hotel experience. The windows are properly soundproofed, which you’ll appreciate since Old Town can get pretty lively (especially Thursday through Sunday when the stag parties descend). Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward hovering around a lobby wondering if you’re doing it right.

What I really loved was how the place sits in this perfect pocket of Old Town where you get the full medieval atmosphere without the absolute chaos of being right on the market square. You can actually hear church bells from St. Mary’s Basilica in the morning, but you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups that camp out around the main attractions. The building itself has character – those thick walls and high ceilings that remind you this city has been around for ages. Plus, there’s something satisfying about coming back from a day of wandering the Jewish Quarter or exploring Wawel Castle to a place that feels like a proper home base rather than just another hotel room. Parking can be tricky in this area, but honestly, that’s Old Town Krakow for you – once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive anywhere anyway since everything worth seeing is within walking distance.

  The apartment is cozy and convenient, has everything what’s needed for a short stay, the location is nice, close to the old town as well as river, shopping mall.
  
  What could be improved: It was practically impossible to sleep due to noises in the street (probably there are bars or smth. just by the window, maybe on workdays it’s better; also cars could be heard, the street is rather busy). Also, it was somewhat dark, only one window.

  Super easy check-in, very clean and spacious. No problems with wifi, was able to work without issues. Very comfortable bed, the kitchen had all tools and appliances. Instant hot water in the shower. Very good location in the middle of Kazimierz, 15 min by tram from the train station. Plenty of restaurants, shops and pubs nearby. Possibility of late check-out
  
  What could be improved: I would add a small lamp next to the bed. Also, the main door should be fixed, as it makes a scratchy noise when opening it.

  A nice warm and clean apartment, which has everything you need for a few days in Krakow.

  What could be improved: The bed was too soft and the shampoos / soap in the little sachets were lame and hard to open making showering difficult. There aslo wasn't any hand soap. Elctrical sockets are falling outthe the walls in several pplaces.
