Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about LoftAffair? The moment you step inside, it doesn’t feel like you’re staying in some tourist rental – it actually feels like you’re crashing at your well-traveled friend’s place who happens to have impeccable taste. The space sits right on Garbarska Street, which honestly is one of those Old Town addresses that sounds fancy but is actually perfectly walkable to everything without being in the chaos of the main square. I mean, you’re literally two minutes from St. Mary’s Basilica, but you won’t have drunk tourists singing outside your window at 2 AM.

The loft itself has this interesting industrial-meets-cozy thing going on that could’ve gone wrong but really works. High ceilings – and I’m talking properly high, not just marketing-speak high – with exposed brick that’s clearly original, not the fake stuff you see everywhere now. The bed situation is actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many places mess this up), and there’s proper blackout curtains which saved my life since Polish summer days seem to last forever. What I really appreciated was the kitchen setup – it’s not just a mini-fridge and a prayer. You can actually cook here if you want to grab some ingredients from the Cloth Hall market or that little grocery tucked behind the Planty gardens. The bathroom’s compact but well thought out, with decent water pressure and – thank god – a proper shower, not one of those European telephone booth situations.

Here’s the thing about staying on Garbarska specifically: you’re close enough to duck into Szara Gęś for dinner without planning ahead, but far enough from Florianska Street that you won’t deal with the tour group parade every morning. The building itself is old (we’re talking proper medieval old), so yeah, you’ll hear some creaking and the occasional footstep from upstairs, but it’s more charming than annoying. Parking’s tricky like everywhere in Old Town, but there’s a garage about a five-minute walk away that won’t bankrupt you. Check-in was straightforward – they actually met me at the apartment instead of making me hunt down some random office, which after a long travel day was clutch. The 8.6 rating makes sense; it’s not trying to be some luxury palace, but everything works, it’s clean, and the location really can’t be beat. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re living in Krakow rather than just visiting it, this place gets it right.

Reviews

  • I recommend it for your stay – Anna from United Kingdom – July 4, 2025 (10/10)

    Simple, clean, close to everywhere

What could be improved: All was great

  • Perfect location, lots of space – Dawn from Ireland – July 3, 2025 (9/10)

Such a lovely, spacious apartment. Amazing location really close to lots of restaurants and a tram line. Everything was within walking distance and a few small supermarkets nearby for everything you need. Plenty of bedding and towels provided. Air conditioning was also great. Hosts were really easy to deal with, contact less check-in/out. Places to leave luggage if you arrive before check-in time.

What could be improved: If you are very sensitive to noise, it carries throughout the building quite easily. It didn't bother us, the street is nice and quiet so it was just the sound of people in the hallway/above you. Nothing excessive.
Be careful with the shower – quite easy to drown the bathroom if you don't watch the angle.

  • very nice apartment – Avner from Israel – September 10, 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is lovely, big, and nicely equipped. very comfortable. The location is superb!

What could be improved: When you enter thru the metal door to the courtyard, the smell of all the rubish cans is bad, and when you enter the stairway, there's a strong smell of dampness. but upon entering the apartment you forget the outside smells and enjoy the cleanness of the apartment

  • Wonderful – Jana from Slovakia – March 6, 2024 (9/10)

Location is perfect, very close to center and shops, restaurants.

What could be improved: Coffee capsules didn't fit to coffee machine.

  • good – Anne from Gibraltar – January 4, 2024 (8/10)

The apartment was very nice and clean

What could be improved: The gate leading from the street into the courtyard made me very uncertain what to expect [it an metal door full of graffiti] and as i arrived very late i did not have the confidence going through at night time by myself and book a room at a nearby hotel for the first night. On the following day i went to check the premises and they proved to be nice.
For future clients I suggest you describe how to get to the premises and that the courtyard is fully lit up when entering.
Not everybody are familiar with key boxes and maybe this should be mentioned as well.

  • Amazing apartment, great location, fantastic value for money – Lois from United Kingdom – October 17, 2023 (10/10)

There is nothing I didn’t like about the apartment. It was in a fantastic location such a close walk to shops, restaurants and the square. It was spacious, clean, had everything I could have needed and was quiet. Shower was hot and powerful. I was travelling alone and felt so safe in there with all the locks on the door. The check in process was so easy.

What could be improved: Nothing – it was all great 🙂

  • Exceptional – David from Ireland – October 1, 2023 (10/10)

Fabulous apartment, clean and so close to the old town and all amenities would 100% recommend.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Excellent – Daria from United Kingdom – February 17, 2023 (10/10)

Clean, lovely and cosy apartment, close to all amenities, 5 minute walk from old town

  • Overall the apartment and location were worth every penny, but the communication could be better. – Elena from Romania – September 23, 2022 (8/10)

The apartment looks just like the pictures. Everything was very clean and the bed and sofa were super comfortable. The apartment is literally in the city center, which we loved. You are in the old city center in like 5 minutes. The location is perfect, there are lots of parking spaces in front of the building.

What could be improved: Unfortunately we arrived late at night and they forgot to put the key in the keybox so we had to wait over an hour in front of the gate for someone to come and let us in. Following this they said we will be compensated but that never happened. We tried asking if we could have a late checkout (4pm), but the communication was really bad and we got the feeling they are just ignoring our questions, as they only let us stay til 11am (normal checkout is at 10).

  • Very Good – Joanna from United Kingdom – July 23, 2025 (8/10)

it was very close to everything and really quite convenient for all purposes for a short stay with family/friends.

What could be improved: The instructions about use of internet/TV were only available via QR code, and on smart phone. I travelled with elderly persons who did not really know how to use this – something to think about. Also it would be worth adding a note that the main gate to the building/property closes at times. Firs reaction was a surprise and not really knowing what to do. I could not recall this being mentioned anywhere in instruction about access.
