The building itself has this old-world charm that you’d expect in Krakow – thick walls that actually block out the street noise, which is saying something considering how lively the Old Town gets, especially on weekends. I stayed here during late spring, and you could hear the clip-clop of horse carriages in the early morning, but by 7 AM it was just the gentle hum of the city waking up.

What really won me over was the staff’s approach – they’re not hovering around with fake smiles, but when you need something, they actually know their stuff. The woman at check-in (I think her name was Marta?) gave me this hand-drawn map with shortcuts to the main square that I never would’ve found otherwise. She marked this little pierogi spot that’s tucked away on Grodzka Street – honestly, it became my go-to lunch place. The apartments themselves are spotless without feeling sterile, and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in, which you don’t always get even at fancier places. The bathroom had one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works properly (you know how hit-or-miss those can be), and the water pressure was solid even on the fourth floor.

I’ll be real with you – the Wi-Fi occasionally hiccupped during busy evening hours, and the elevator is one of those tiny European ones that fits maybe two people if you’re friendly. But these are minor things when you’re paying what you’d spend on a decent dinner back home for an entire night’s stay. The location means you’re walking to Wawel Castle in fifteen minutes, and the Jewish Quarter is just across the river – I’d grab breakfast at one of the cafes in Kazimierz and walk back through Planty Park most mornings. There’s something magical about having your own key to a place in a city like this, being able to come and go without checking with reception or worrying about key cards demagnetizing. It felt less like staying at a hotel and more like borrowing a friend’s place – if that friend happened to live in one of Europe’s most beautiful cities and kept their apartment immaculately clean.
