Honestly, when I first walked up to this place on Karmelicka Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the entrance is pretty understated, tucked between those typical Krakow townhouses with their weathered facades. But you know what? That’s actually part of its charm. The CracWoW K8 turned out to be one of those hidden gems that locals probably walk past every day without realizing there’s this perfectly appointed apartment inside.

The location is ridiculously good, and I mean that in the best way. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Main Market Square – I timed it because I’m obsessive like that – but far enough down Karmelicka that you don’t get the rowdy groups stumbling back from the bars at 2 AM. The street has this lovely residential feel with actual Polish families going about their daily routines, plus there’s a fantastic little bakery two doors down that fills the whole block with the smell of fresh bread every morning around 7. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s place than a typical rental. Everything’s been thoughtfully chosen – not that sterile IKEA-catalog look you get in most short-term places, but actual personality in the furnishings. The kitchen’s small but surprisingly well-equipped (I made pierogi from scratch, which seemed appropriate), and the bathroom has this gorgeous rainfall shower that I may have lingered in longer than necessary after walking around the cobblestones all day.

What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so central. The windows face the courtyard rather than the street, so you get this peaceful buffer from city noise – though honestly, even Karmelicka isn’t too crazy compared to some of the main drags. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too; none of that awkward key-handoff-at-a-random-café situation I’ve dealt with before. The whole experience just felt… well, easy. And in a city where you’ll be doing a lot of walking on uneven stones and climbing up to castle ramparts, having a genuinely comfortable home base makes all the difference. The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Krakow, but it nails all the things that actually matter when you’re exploring this incredible city.

  Beautiful apartment. It was perfect for a group of 5 people. The location is perfect with walking distance for all of the major sightseeing.
  
  What could be improved: We went on December and the apartment was a little bit cold. The heating wasn't work properly in the living room…. But when we informed about it they bought a new heater and brought it to us.

  What could be improved: Unable to turn off sensor lights on hallway and doors have transparent glass so woken many times from sensor lights. Even moving my feet whilst sleeping would trigger them.
  Not terrible but if you are a light sleeper like me bring an eye mask.
