The shower pressure was fantastic (always my first test), and the beds were surprisingly comfortable for what’s technically a 3-star spot. I actually slept better there than I have at some supposedly fancier places.

Here’s the thing about the location that took me a day or two to fully appreciate – you’re not right in the thick of the Old Town chaos, but you’re close enough that a fifteen-minute walk gets you to the main action. What I really loved was discovering the little neighborhood gems nearby. There’s this incredible pierogi place about three blocks down that locals actually go to (you can tell because the menu’s only in Polish and the babcia running it doesn’t speak English but somehow communicates perfectly through gestures and smiles). The morning sounds from the street below weren’t intrusive – mostly just people heading to work and the occasional tram in the distance. I’m someone who usually needs complete silence to sleep, but there was something almost soothing about the gentle urban hum. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that corporate scripted routine, just genuine helpfulness. The only tiny criticism I’d have is that the elevator is, well, let’s call it “vintage European” – meaning it’s small and makes interesting noises, but it works fine. If you’ve got massive luggage, just mentally prepare for some Tetris-style maneuvering. But really, for the price point and the experience you get, this place punches way above its weight class. It’s the kind of spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than just passing through a hotel.

  The apartment was perfect, very cosy, and plenty of room! Also it was very clean and you had everything you needed in there. You have a private parking spot underneath the building. 5 minute drive to the centre. Also, the neighbourhood is very quiet, so you feel very safe to walk around, and no one is weaking you up in the morning.
