You know what struck me first about Designomania? The name actually makes sense once you walk in – these aren’t your typical cramped European apartments with mismatched furniture and questionable art choices. The place genuinely has style, which honestly surprised me given how many “design” hotels just slap some geometric wallpaper on the walls and call it a day.

The location on Nadwiślańska puts you right in the heart of Podgórze, which I mean, if you haven’t explored this side of the Vistula yet, you’re missing out. It’s way more chill than the tourist madness around the main square, but you’re still close enough that crossing the river takes maybe fifteen minutes on foot. I actually preferred staying here – you get that authentic neighborhood vibe where locals are grabbing coffee and walking their dogs, not posing for Instagram shots every ten feet. The street itself is pretty quiet, though you’ll hear some tram sounds if you’re a super light sleeper. Nothing major though.

What really sold me on the place was how they’ve thought through the details that most apartment hotels completely ignore. The kitchenettes aren’t just afterthoughts – you can actually cook a real meal if you want to, with proper counter space and decent cookware. The Wi-Fi doesn’t mysteriously disappear when you need it most (been burned by that too many times), and honestly, the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with a brick wall all night. The design aesthetic leans modern without being cold – lots of clean lines and neutral colors, but they’ve added enough texture and warmth that it doesn’t feel like a sterile showroom.

Check-in was smooth, no drama there, and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about restaurant recommendations. They pointed me toward this little place on Mostowa that I never would’ve found otherwise – sometimes those local insights make all the difference. Parking can be a bit tricky in the area if you’re driving, but that’s pretty standard for anywhere in Krakow that’s actually worth staying in. The 8.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but it delivers on the fundamentals while adding enough personality to feel special. I’d definitely book here again, especially if I wanted to experience Krakow from a different angle than the typical Old Town bubble.

  The apartment was very clean. And the host was so nice, I kept asking them questions which are already in the file at the room which I didn't see for some time. The balcony was a great luxury, ac was great, kitchen was a delight.
  
  What could be improved: The lamp on the coach was a hazard even for a short person like me:) I kept hitting my head to it, sth to think about. Also an extention cable to the coach would be great, couldnt check my phone when it is on charge. Not big problems at all, just suggettions.

  A cozy, clean and warm apartment situated next to Vistula. The host gave us clear instructions to get the keys, the apartment has everything you may need. Excellent location, across the river is Kazimierz, lots of good restaurants in the area. Also public transportation if needed. Second time been here, always satisfied. We’ll be back next trip in Krakow.

  Clean and comfortable apartments (we booked three of them for our large group), great communication, great location for sightseeing. When we had a small problem – we noticed a bird being stuck on the floor above us and struggling, we let our hosts know and they fixed it immediately with the building administrators. It might be a small thing but for us it meant a lot and we appreciated the quick action. We enjoyed our time and would book again without hesitation.

  A cozy and modern apartment located next to the Father Bernatek’s Bridge. A comfortable and quiet place, clean, well heated (we were there in a snowy December). Easy to access, the instructions sent by the owner were very clear. Good restaurants in the area in Kazimierz, just over the bridge, lots of possibilities to eat.
  The apartment has everything you need may need: washing machine, dishwasher , coffee machine, oven, microwave, kettle.
  Bed was very comfortable, as I said it was very quiet .
  Overall an excellent experience and considering the comfort and the location, a place to come back.

  Modern building with good security, located just across the river in Podgorze, on a street with lots of eateries and bars. Spacious enough for one or two people, with fast internet and piping hot water. Easy contactless check-in and check-out, and (paid) parking is plentiful in the street out front. Comfy mattress and couch, and a decent amount of kitchenware.
  
  What could be improved: This is a large studio rather than a one-bedroom apartment, meaning that the living and sleeping spaces are separated by a half-wall (no door). This is fine for one person but for a couple going to bed or getting up at different times this might be an issue in terms of light, noise etc. Also, for those looking for a place within walking distance from the old town, this one is about thirty minutes to the Market Square.
