You know what struck me first about Dluga Apartments? The address itself – ul. Długa 11/5 – because honestly, you can’t get much more central in Krakow’s Old Town without literally sleeping in the Main Market Square. I mean, Długa Street is one of those cobblestone arteries that feels like the real medieval deal, not some tourist reconstruction, and this place sits right in the thick of it.

The thing about staying here is you’re basically living like a local, which sounds cliché but actually means something when you’re stumbling out for morning coffee and realizing you’re a two-minute walk from Florianska Gate. The apartments themselves – well, they’ve got that perfect balance of old-world character without making you suffer through genuinely medieval plumbing. The building’s got this worn limestone facade that’s probably seen a few centuries, but inside it’s been updated thoughtfully. You’ll notice the high ceilings first (Poles really knew how to build rooms back in the day), then probably the way they’ve managed to squeeze modern kitchenettes into spaces that were clearly designed for something entirely different centuries ago.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which honestly surprised me given the location. Sure, you’ll hear some late-night chatter from people walking back from the bars on Szewska Street, but it’s not the kind of place where tour groups are dragging suitcases across cobblestones at 6 AM. The thick walls help – I’m talking proper old European construction here, not modern thin stuff. Parking’s going to be your biggest headache, but that’s true anywhere in the Old Town, and you’re close enough to the Planty ring park that you can usually find something reasonable if you’re willing to walk five minutes. Actually, you might not even want a car staying here – I walked to Wawel Castle, the Jewish Quarter, even out to Podgórze, and everything felt manageable on foot.

The apartments earn that 4-star rating through details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. Good water pressure, reliable wifi, proper blackout curtains (those summer nights in Poland stay light forever), and kitchens equipped well enough that you could actually cook if you wanted to skip another plate of pierogi. Though honestly, with places like Pod Aniołami just around the corner and the covered market on Grzegórzecka not far off, you’d be missing out. The 9 rating makes sense too – it’s the kind of place where small things work properly, the check-in process doesn’t involve standing around confused, and you get the sense someone actually thinks about what travelers need rather than just what looks good in photos.

Early hotels booking in Krakow requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to see the city’s UNESCO-listed medieval center and royal landmarks.

  Lovely location right by the old town. The bed was very comfortable and the room had spaciousness.
  
  What could be improved: In the bathroom the shower door was not properly working and on the tv when playing YouTube didn’t show video only sound. Other than that the apartment was fantastic. 100% would stay here if I come back to Krakow.

  The location of the property was excellent! Would recommend it to family & Friends!
  The room itself was clean and the bed very comfortable. Lots of useful amenities inside and outside the room. It had a coffee machine and ironing board in the hallway was very helpful.

  Great apartment. It was clean, cozy, and equipped with all the essentials. The bed was also comfortable. The location is perfect: it's right at the center and close to all the main sights and the Main Market Square. Loved the coffee machine!

  What could be improved: Way in to access apartment is a little dark but fine once you find your way. No secure luggage storage. No reception. Host was pretty accessible despite this.

  I’ve stayed for one night in this apartment. I liked it all from the very beginning. The place is very clean and warm, and you have all the necessities in the main room and the bath. The bed was comfortable too. Overall a wonderful place which I recommend.
  
  What could be improved: When entering the apartment, I had issue with opening a locker for a key, but the host helped me when I contacted her and eventually I managed to open it, even though it was hard. Nonetheless it didn’t prevent me from enjoying the stay in this wonderful apartment.

  Minimal contact with staff (good if not social).
  Clear instructions to get into apartment, codes and lock box.
  Clean and tidy room with clean and modern bathroom, well stocked with towels. Deluxe Studio had good lighting from skylight windows but don’t forget to close before bed cause the natural light will wake you up if you don’t.
  
  Staff were accommodating to a request for a later checkout as I was tired.
