Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of places in Krakow’s Old Town, and Dom Casimi honestly surprised me in the best way possible. You walk up to this unassuming entrance on Szeroka Street – and I mean, you might actually walk past it if you’re not paying attention – but once you’re inside, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve found something special. The building has that perfect Polish character, you know? Stone walls that have been around since probably the 14th century, but everything’s been updated just enough that you’re not dealing with ancient plumbing or creaky everything.

What really got me was the location – and I don’t just mean “oh, it’s in Old Town” (because honestly, half the places claim that). This is literally in the heart of Kazimierz, the old Jewish quarter, which means you’re a two-minute walk from some of the most authentic restaurants and bars that tourists never find. Szeroka Street itself is this wide, cobblestoned square that feels almost secret during early morning hours, but comes alive with street musicians and little market stalls by afternoon. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood – when I asked about finding proper pierogi that wasn’t tourist-trap stuff, the guy at reception drew me a little map to this place around the corner that became my daily breakfast spot. You’ll hear some street noise during weekend evenings (it’s Poland, people know how to have a good time), but nothing that decent windows can’t handle.

The rooms themselves are… well, they’re 3-star rooms, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or anything, but they’re clean and surprisingly spacious for Old Town standards. I mean, I’ve paid twice as much for hotel rooms in this area that felt like closets. The beds are actually comfortable – you know how sometimes hotel beds feel like they were designed by someone who’s never slept? Not the case here. What I really appreciated were the little touches: proper reading lights, enough outlets for your devices, and bathroom toiletries that don’t smell like industrial cleaning products. Plus, the whole place has this quiet, almost residential feel once you’re inside, which is rare when you’re literally surrounded by centuries-old architecture and tourist crowds. That 8.4 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what you want when you’re spending your days exploring the city and just need a comfortable, well-located base that won’t eat your entire travel budget.

Krakow’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with historical character, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this beautifully preserved Polish city.

Reviews

  • A great spot in a historic location – Tadas from Lithuania – July 1, 2025 (8/10)

Loved this place! It was very authentic and for that, we loved it. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were there on a hot day, but despite not having an AC, the room was not hot at all. Thick walls help. The hotel is in an old Jewish square, an old and historic place. All the main shops, restaurants were nearby, only a few minutes walk. We parked a car in a nearby parking lot (2 min walk), but parking next to the hotel is not available.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Great B&B. Highly recommended – Brewin from United Kingdom – July 1, 2025 (8/10)

Fab location in the Jewish quarter.

What could be improved: Only marked down as no aircon but the room did have a big fam that was sufficient

  • Very Good – Milan from Slovakia – June 16, 2025 (8/10)

    Hotel position, breakfest quality.

What could be improved: No comment

  • Great location and lovely staff – Duncan from United Kingdom – March 31, 2025 (9/10)

Staff were very obliging – very grateful for Maria’s kind breakfast bag which she arranged for us at short notice.

What could be improved: The front facing room was onto themain square which was quite noisy.

  • Wonderful – Alexandros from Greece – January 3, 2025 (9/10)

    Location and breakfast

  • Excellent stay – Martin from United Kingdom – November 18, 2024 (9/10)

Location was perfect, 10 min walk to main square. 15 min walk to the krakow central station, trams just outside on the main street.
Great bars & restaurants right on your doorstep literally!! Very friendly staff & excellent breakfast & comfortable room, great WiFi.

What could be improved: Quite a small shower & maybe a small fridge needed.

  • Lovely – Nicola from United Kingdom – November 11, 2024 (8/10)

Staff were lovely, helpful & friendly, location was amazing and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful.

What could be improved: It’s not that we didn’t like this property as we had a very comfortable stay, the decor is dated & furniture is antique, however I think that is the character of the property.

  • Wonderful – Clive from United Kingdom – October 4, 2024 (9/10)

Location is superb. In the ewish quarter, amazing restaurant on the doorstep and 25 mins walk from the old town. Charming hotel with fantastic staff

What could be improved: Sink was cracked and the shower tray broken, both worked fine but needed fuxing
