Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “DoubleTree by Hilton,” I was expecting another cookie-cutter business hotel. You know the type. But this Krakow location actually surprised me, and that 9.2 rating? Yeah, it makes sense once you’re there.

The thing about this place is that it sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the chaos of the Old Town crowds stumbling back from the bars at 2 AM. I mean, don’t get me wrong – you’ll want to spend your evenings wandering around Rynek Główny and the castle area, but it’s nice to come back somewhere that feels… well, civilized. The lobby has this modern but warm vibe going on, not too sterile like some chain hotels can be. And honestly, the staff actually seems to care – they’ll give you real recommendations, not just point you toward the tourist traps.

What really got me was the attention to detail. The rooms are spacious by European standards (anyone who’s stayed in a shoebox in Paris will appreciate this), and the beds are legitimately comfortable – none of that rock-hard mattress situation you sometimes get. The bathrooms are well-designed too, with proper water pressure in the shower, which… look, if you’ve been traveling around Eastern Europe for a while, you know that’s not always a given. There’s also this convention center attached, which sounds boring, but it actually means the facilities are top-notch. The fitness center is decent, the business areas are quiet when you need to catch up on work, and there’s solid WiFi throughout – the kind that actually works for video calls, not just checking email. Parking was straightforward too, which saved me the headache of navigating Krakow’s old streets with a rental car. The breakfast spread is pretty impressive, with local touches mixed in with the international stuff, and the coffee is actually good (not that watery hotel coffee that makes you wonder why you bothered). You know what really sealed it for me though? The little things. Like how they remember your name at the front desk, or how the housekeeping staff pays attention to details without being intrusive. It’s the kind of place where you can tell the management actually cares about the experience, not just processing guests through as efficiently as possible.

  – Breakfast is very rich and tasty, with lot of choices for everyone
  – Dinners were delicious – creamy mushroom soup or Bouillabaisse soup were superb
  – One dish at dinner was not prepared according order / guest wish – mistakes can happen everywhere – it was not charged
  – Overall food is very good
  – Nice, spacious and clean rooms
  – Personnel either at reception, bar or restaurant – superb, very friendly and helpful
  – Wellness area – Nice sauna and herbal sauna, where the water in the whirlpool could be a bit warmer – but that´s a personal opinion/choice. Despite signs everywhere some guests still uses the sauna in swimsuits, not only in towels, but this is not the hotel´s fault, the guests should change this behavior.

  Great hotel, veey nice rooms, clean, comfortable and pleasant. Staff is reactive, pleasant ans very helpful. Bathrooms are big and very well equipped. Restaurant and bar is great, good choice of food and drinks with approachable prices. Highlight is spa center with great swimming pool, heated pool and jacuzzi with great selection of saunas.

  Hilton is Hilton. There is nothing to say more. Highest level of service and hospitality. If you're going to krakow and looking for a hotel, just pick this one. It is absolutely worth it.

  The hotel and staff are phenomenal. The Indian breakfast chef is an omelette god…he was a delight to meet and made them to perfection. Throughout the hotel, it was spotless. All staff were friendly and welcoming. The spa facilities are excellent and the room was very comfortable with everything you need. I really couldn't find fault staying here other than the location isn't exactly central, it's about a ten minute taxi ride from the city centre but otherwise I'd highly recommend to anyone to stay here.

  The swimming pool was very enjoyable, with a great steam bath and two saunas as well as a jacuzzi, enjoyment for all!
