Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first rolled up to DReAM Main Station on Lubomirskiego street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes these mid-range spots surprise you, and this one actually gets it right in ways that matter.

The location is genuinely brilliant if you’re doing Krakow properly. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the main train station (hence the name, obviously), which means you can dump your bags and be wandering around the Old Town in about fifteen minutes on foot. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize – this street is just far enough from the tourist chaos that you actually get some peace at night. I mean, you’re still in the city center, but you’re not dealing with drunk British lads singing football chants under your window at 2 AM like you would closer to the market square. The neighborhood has this nice mix of locals heading to work and travelers who actually know what they’re doing, if that makes sense.

What really won me over was how they handle the small stuff that chain hotels mess up constantly. Check-in was refreshingly quick – no trying to upsell me on breakfast packages or city tours I didn’t want. The rooms are clean and modern without trying too hard to be Instagram-worthy, and honestly, the beds are way more comfortable than you’d expect for the price point. The shower pressure is decent (crucial after walking around those cobblestones all day), and they’ve got proper blackout curtains, which is huge if you’re dealing with jet lag. There’s this little desk area that’s actually functional for laptop work, not just decorative furniture like so many places do. The Wi-Fi works everywhere – I tested it because I’m paranoid about these things.

Staff-wise, they clearly hire people who live in Krakow and know the city, not just hospitality school graduates reading from scripts. When I asked about getting to Kazimierz, the guy at reception gave me this detailed rundown about which tram stops to use and mentioned this little café near the synagogues that wasn’t in any guidebook I’d seen. That’s the kind of local insight that makes a difference when you’re trying to experience a place beyond the obvious tourist stuff. The breakfast situation is solid – nothing fancy, but they do proper coffee and have enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying several days. Plus, they’re cool about letting you grab an extra pastry if you’re heading out early for day trips to Wieliczka or Auschwitz.

The 8.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there for a day or two. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Krakow, but it nails the fundamentals that actually matter when you’re traveling – location that works, rooms that let you sleep properly, and people who help instead of just going through the motions. If you’re the type who needs a spa and room service, look elsewhere. But if you want a reliable base for exploring one of Europe’s best cities without paying premium prices for location and quality, this place delivers exactly what it promises.

  It was a large apartment with everything you need, a large wardrobe, comfortable bed, kitchenette and a nice bathroom 🙂 in a great location as it’s only 20 mins walk from old town

  Great little apartment 20 minutes walk from Stare Miasto. Very quiet despite being on a busy road. Nicely decorated and modern interior. Plenty of towels and shower gel to use in the powerful shower cubicle. Customer service was great, nothing was too much trouble.

  The apartment was super comfortable, clean, and in great location that is close enough to the main areas of Krakow, yet still quiet and comfortable. We hired bikes, which made for an easy ride to/from the centre of Krakow. Check-in process was also very smooth and host was very responsive.
  
  What could be improved: The kitchen didn't have a dish/tea towel, dish drying space, or a microwave. Otherwise, we had everything we needed.

  Good location, close to train station and to the downtown. The apartment was clean and nice.
  All instructions from the stuff on how to get into the building and apartment were clear.
  
  What could be improved: There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke, I guess it was getting inside the apartment through the ventilation system or someone from the apartment next door was smoking inside of it.

  Perfect place for a single person or a couple for a short stay. It's around 10 minutes walk from the main train station, there are tram stops nearby. The place is simple, but it has all what you need, and pretty comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: Tap water from the bathroom didn't get warm. The "smart" options of the TV didn't work.
