Hotel Description
You know what surprised me most about Elegant Apartments? It’s actually elegant – I mean, I’ve seen too many places throw around that word when they just have fancy lobby lighting. But this place on Dietla Street really gets it right, and honestly, the location is kind of perfect in that sneaky way where you’re close enough to everything but not drowning in tourist chaos.
The thing about staying here is you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Main Square, but Dietla runs parallel to the main tourist drag, so you get this weird benefit where you can slip back to your apartment and actually hear yourself think. The building itself has that solid, pre-war Polish feel – thick walls, high ceilings, the kind of place where you’re not hearing every conversation from the room next door. I stayed there in late spring, and opening those big windows in the morning, you get this mix of coffee brewing from the café downstairs and that particular smell of old Krakow – sort of like stone and history, if that makes sense. The apartments themselves are spacious in a way that actually matters when you’re living out of a suitcase for more than a couple days. Kitchen’s properly equipped too, not just some mini-fridge situation, which is clutch if you want to grab groceries from the Carrefour Express around the corner instead of eating pierogi for every meal (though honestly, you could do worse).
What really sold me on the place – and why that 9.5 rating doesn’t seem inflated – is how the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Kazimierz, the guy at reception didn’t just point vaguely south, he told me which tram stop has better connections and mentioned that the evening crowd starts picking up around 8. Small stuff, but it matters when you’re trying to time your day right. The check-in was smooth, parking is available if you’re brave enough to drive in Krakow (I wasn’t), and the WiFi actually works consistently, which feels worth mentioning after some of the dead zones I’ve encountered in older European buildings. Look, it’s not the cheapest option in the Old Town, but for what you get – space, location, and that rare feeling of staying somewhere that actually cares about the details – it’s worth the extra zloty. Plus, you’re close enough to walk to Wawel Castle when the morning light hits it just right, and far enough from Floriańska Street that you won’t be dodging bachelor parties at midnight.

We had a wonderful stay at Elegant Apartments. The location was perfect — right in the old town, just a 10-minute walk from the Main Market Square. The apartment was warm, elegant, and well-equipped, with a fully stocked kitchen. We loved the balcony overlooking the beautiful inner courtyard — a perfect spot for breakfast. Excellent communication with the host Highly recommend!
