Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Krakow, and this apartment on Mickiewicza actually surprised me in the best way. You know how sometimes you book a place and you’re crossing your fingers it won’t be a disaster? Well, this wasn’t one of those times. The building itself has that classic Polish charm – you’re walking up these old stairs thinking “okay, this could go either way,” but then you open the door to 7B and it’s honestly quite lovely inside.

The location is what really sold me on this place, though I should mention it’s not technically in the Old Town despite what the address suggests – it’s more like on the edge, which actually works out better. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk to the main square, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your window. Mickiewicza is one of those streets that feels properly Polish, you know? There’s a decent grocery store just down the block (I think it’s a Żabka), and you’ll hear the trams rumbling by, but it’s not obnoxious noise – more like city soundtrack. I actually found it kind of soothing after a few nights.

The apartment itself is smartly laid out – someone clearly thought about how people actually live, not just how to cram in furniture. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to grab some pierogi from the market and heat them up, and the bathroom is modern enough that you’re not wrestling with Soviet-era plumbing. The bed is comfortable, though the pillows are a bit soft if you’re used to firmer support. What I really appreciated were the little touches – good lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed for your phone, windows that actually open properly when you want fresh air. The WiFi worked fine for video calls back home, which honestly can be hit or miss in these older buildings.

Here’s the thing though – if you’re expecting hotel-style service, this isn’t that. Check-in was smooth enough, but it’s very much a “here are your keys, figure it out” situation. Which I personally prefer, but some people like more hand-holding. Also, if you’re traveling in summer, it can get warm since there’s no AC, but the cross-breeze helps if you open the right windows. Winter was actually cozy – the heating works well, maybe too well sometimes.

The neighborhood grows on you. There’s this little café about three blocks away that does excellent coffee (way better than the touristy spots), and you’re close enough to walk to Planty Park when you need green space. The Jewish Quarter is maybe fifteen minutes on foot, and honestly, I preferred walking back here at night to staying right in the thick of Kazimierz where it gets pretty rowdy. You feel like you’re staying somewhere real people live, not in tourist central. For the price point and the fact that you get a whole apartment to yourself, I’d definitely book it again – just maybe pack a small fan for July visits.

  The apartment had everything we needed, enough space for two people, great location, bus and tram stops were really close.
  
  We would have enjoyed a second blanket for sleeping, as the room only had one, so me and my friend had to share. Also, the room could have been a little warmer, but the heating was off.

  Comfortable apartment, great for 1 or 2 people. Thick curtains, good A/C, furnished kitchen. The apartment os just outside of the old town, so it was easy to walk to the main sites. There are several bus routes on the main avenue outside.

  What could be improved: – apartment is on 4th floor without lift and you find out that just after booking – take it to considaration if you carry 20kg case with you or you are disable or older person as you won't be able to cancel your booking without cost.
  
  – no contact with host – I tried to call the host to confirm my arrival. The host didn't answer the phone and didn't call me back.
  
  – all 4 spotlights in bathroom were blown. Only small led lights were working. I had to take bulb from kitchen to be able to use bathroom at all – see picture as proof.
  
  – TV not working. Only sound, no picture. That was mentioned 9 months ago (June 2024) in someone's else review and was still not sorted out! See picture as proof.

  Gute Lage, Bahn fährt direkt vor der Tür, ansonsten 15 min zum Marktplatz. Bequemes Bett, super Küche mit Spülmaschine und Waschmaschine. Um Treppenhaus gibt es einen kleinen Gemeinschaftsbalkon. Es gab Handtücher. Heizung war sehr schnell warm. Sehr empfehlenswert!
  
  What could be improved: Da es eine begehbare Dusche gibt und es unter der Tür zum Bad einen großen Schlitz gibt, war nach dem Duschen das ganze Appartement nass. Appartement ist im 4. Stock ohne Aufzug.
