The name is absolutely terrible – “Family Apartment Nearto Old Town Vermelo by NEARTOpl” sounds like someone fed a computer too much booking data – but honestly, don’t let that scare you off. This 4-star apartment on 29 Listopada is actually a gem that locals probably wish tourists wouldn’t discover.

The location is what really sold me. You’re tucked into this quiet residential stretch that feels properly Polish, not like those tourist-trap streets where every other door is a pierogi restaurant with English menus. I mean, you can still walk to the main square in about twelve minutes (I timed it), but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear drunk backpackers stumbling home at 3 AM. The street itself has this lovely tree-lined thing going on, and there’s a little grocery store two blocks down where the elderly Polish woman behind the counter will absolutely judge your vegetable choices – in the best possible way. The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home, which I suspect it might be during off-season. There’s real attention to comfort here – proper blackout curtains (thank god), a kitchen that’s not just for show with decent knives and a coffee maker that actually works, and this massive dining table where you could spread out maps or laptops or just eat way too much bread from the nearby bakery. The WiFi is solid, the heating works without making those terrifying radiator noises, and the shower has actual water pressure. Small things, but they matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets in the evenings – this neighborhood settles down early, so you’ll sleep well before heading out to explore. The 8.6 rating makes sense once you’ve been there; it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it’s genuinely comfortable and feels like a slice of real Krakow life. Plus, if you’re traveling with kids or just want space to spread out after days of sightseeing, having a proper apartment instead of a cramped hotel room is honestly priceless. Just don’t expect concierge service or daily housekeeping – this is more like borrowing a friend’s really nice place while they’re out of town.

  This is a very nice and clean apartment and it is also well equipped. It is a good deal especially when all beds are reserved. The area seems to be very safe, a fuel station with a good little shop is just next to it. There is little noise (if any) during the night and the beds are very comfortable so we could have a very good sleep. 🙂
  
  What could be improved: We travelled during the holiday so it was not a problem for us but the parking is not very cheap otherwise. Note that the city center is a 30-40 minute walk from the apartment. It was not a problem for us because we enjoy walking, otherwise one has to use the public transportation or park their car near the city center which is extra cost.

  We were very happy with the apartment and we had a great time!
  
  What could be improved: We had a problem with the numbers that were given to us to enter the building and we contacted the host twice for the Wi-Fi password but we didn't get the answer and there was a problem with the door handle in one of the bathrooms. This wasn't anything big and we would come back to this apartment again!

  The apartment has a parent room with private bathroom. And a second bath with bath tub was very convenient for us. The apartment was cozy, clean and worth the price.
  
  What could be improved: The location is far from the center af the city and most facilities are by 15 minutes walk at least. The host is not responding the messages and hard to catch on phone. A lot of plugs are not working and some of lights.
