FatCat Apartments Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to FatCat Apartments on a quiet side street in Grzegórzki, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone. But you know what? Sometimes the most memorable places are the ones that don’t take themselves too seriously. This three-star property sits in what locals consider one of Krakow’s most desirable neighborhoods, and after spending a few days here, I can see why couples especially fall for this area — there’s something genuinely charming about having your own little corner of the city without being stuck in the tourist chaos.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Grzegórzki is one of those districts that feels authentically Krakow without trying too hard. You’re close enough to walk to the Old Town when you want that postcard experience, but far enough away that you’ll actually hear birds in the morning instead of tour groups. I mean, there’s a reason this location scores so highly with visitors — you get the best of both worlds. The streets around Blich have that lived-in feel where you’ll find proper Polish cafes next to small galleries, and honestly, some of the best pierogi I had during my stay came from a tiny place just two blocks away that I never would have discovered if I’d stayed in the main tourist zone.
The Apartment Experience
What sets FatCat Apartments apart is that you’re getting actual apartment living rather than just a hotel room with a mini-fridge. The spaces feel like someone’s well-maintained home that they’ve temporarily lent you — which, let’s be honest, is exactly what you want when you’re traveling. Everything works properly (always a relief), and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days. The kitchenettes are functional enough that you could prepare a proper meal if you wanted to, though with Krakow’s food scene, you probably won’t need to very often.
Practical Perks
Here’s something that actually matters more than you’d think — they have on-site parking. If you’re driving in Krakow, you’ll understand why this is such a relief. Finding parking in the city center can be a genuine headache, and knowing you have a guaranteed spot takes away that low-level stress that can color your whole trip. It’s one of those practical details that doesn’t sound exciting but makes your daily routine so much smoother. Plus, having your car right there means you can easily explore beyond the city if you want to take day trips to places like Wieliczka or the Tatra Mountains.
Why Guests Love It
The high ratings here aren’t just about the apartment quality — though that’s solid — it’s about the whole package working together. You get a proper neighborhood experience, space to breathe, and the freedom that comes with apartment-style accommodations, all while being perfectly positioned to enjoy Krakow. Couples seem to particularly appreciate having their own little retreat to return to after days of sightseeing, and I can see why. There’s something satisfying about having keys to your own temporary front door rather than just another hotel room card.

Very spacious and comfortable and it had everything we needed. It was also in an excellent location for the old city and Jewish quarter. Just a few minutes walk to where we wanted to be.

I would definitely come back.Haydn from United Kingdom (9/10)
Great location, easily walkable to old town & Jewish Quarter. Everything you need is provided. Check in was simple using a lockbox. Apartment is lovely and warm with underfloor heating throughout. It is located on a quiet road and the apartment we stayed in was at the rear of the building, so was very quiet, we didn’t hear any noise from neighbours either. Beds were comfortable, as was the linen provided.

Dmitrii from Israel (9/10)
Well located , in a walking distance to the Old Town as well as main railway station. Another good thing was flexibility with check in and check out. I don’t have a cons, the only thing I’d suggest to add some home slippers for the ground floor apartment as at the winter time it was too cold to walk.
