Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Fragola Apartments? Walking up to this place on Piłsudskiego, I honestly expected just another generic rental situation, but there’s something really thoughtful about how they’ve set everything up here. The building itself has that solid, pre-war Polish character – you can feel the history in the thick walls and high ceilings, which actually turns out to be a blessing because it means you won’t hear every footstep from upstairs.

The location is genuinely perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Krakow rather than just visiting it. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Main Square, but Piłsudskiego is one of those streets that stays relatively quiet even during peak summer madness. There’s a decent grocery store (Żabka) right around the corner, and – this is the kind of thing you only figure out after staying somewhere – the little café next to the pharmacy makes excellent morning coffee for about half what you’d pay near the Cloth Hall. The apartments themselves feel properly lived-in, not sterile hotel-clean, if that makes sense. Real kitchens with actual pots and pans, comfortable beds that don’t feel like they came from a catalog, and honestly some of the most reliable WiFi I’ve encountered in Old Town (which, trust me, isn’t always a given).

What really sold me on this place was the check-in experience – no fumbling around looking for some mysterious key pickup location or dealing with confused reception staff who clearly don’t speak English. The whole process was smooth, and they actually give you useful local information, not just tourist brochure nonsense. Parking can be tricky around here (it’s Old Town, after all), but they’ll point you toward the closest options that won’t break your budget. The only minor thing I’d mention is that some of the apartments face the street, so if you’re really sensitive to noise, you might want to ask about courtyard-facing units – though honestly, it’s not like you’re dealing with major traffic on this particular stretch. During my stay in early fall, the place had this perfect balance of being busy enough to feel alive but not so crowded that you’re fighting for space everywhere you go.

Exploring Krakow offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Poland’s medieval heart, from its magnificent Wawel Castle to its bustling Market Square and timeless cultural traditions.

Reviews

  • Great location, excellent facility and a quiet retreat after a hard day of sightseeing. – Thomas from United States – June 30, 2025 (10/10)

Location was great, super convenient. Facilities were top notch – a very pleasant experience just seeing the layout on arrival. The balcony was a very nice add-on.

What could be improved: I was there is late June and the lack of air conditioning was a mild irritant. I could not see staying there in July or August. There was no laundry detergent to go with the clothes washer.
