Honestly, when I first walked into Gallery 7 – Apartment 7, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another Old Town rental. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked right on Grodzka Street – and I mean RIGHT on it – which sounds like it could be a nightmare with tourist foot traffic, but the windows are surprisingly well-insulated. You’ll hear some chatter during the day, sure, but it dies down beautifully after the evening restaurant rush.

The apartment itself feels like someone who actually lives in Krakow designed it, not some corporate chain trying to guess what travelers want. The kitchen has everything you’d actually use (decent coffee maker, real knives that cut things), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that doesn’t leave you dancing around trying to get wet. What really got me though was the little gallery wall – hence the name, I guess – with local artwork that changes periodically. The owner mentioned they rotate pieces from nearby artists, which is such a thoughtful touch you rarely see.

Location-wise, you’re literally a three-minute stumble to the Main Square, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize about staying this central – grocery runs become a bit of an adventure since the nearest Żabka is about a five-minute walk toward Wawel Castle. Not a dealbreaker, just something to know. The building itself is one of those beautifully restored medieval structures where you can feel the history in the thick walls and uneven floors (bring slippers if you’re picky about that sort of thing). Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward key-finding drama you sometimes get with apartment rentals. The property manager actually met me there and gave me the kind of local tips you’d get from a friend, like which pierogi place on Szeroka Street to hit up and when the castle gardens are least crowded. After staying in my fair share of Krakow accommodations over the years, I can honestly say this one strikes that sweet spot between authentic charm and actual comfort – plus that 9.1 rating isn’t just inflated review magic, it’s genuinely earned.
