Gallery 7 – LoftAffair Collection

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Gallery 7 when I first walked in – the name sounds a bit pretentious, doesn’t it? But you know what, this place completely won me over within about five minutes. It’s part of the LoftAffair Collection, and they’ve really nailed that whole “industrial chic meets actual comfort” vibe that so many hotels try for but totally mess up. The lobby feels like you’re walking into some cool art curator’s personal space, with exposed brick and these massive windows that let in all this natural light. I mean, the ceilings are probably twelve feet high, which makes everything feel open and airy instead of cramped like most city hotels.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to keep that loft aesthetic without sacrificing the little things that actually matter when you’re traveling. The rooms – and I stayed in three different ones over multiple visits – all have these beautiful hardwood floors that don’t creak when you’re trying to sneak to the bathroom at 3am (trust me, I tested this). The beds are honestly some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered, and I’m pretty picky about that stuff. They’ve got this perfect firmness that doesn’t leave you feeling like you slept on concrete or sinking into quicksand. The bathrooms are where they really show off though – rainfall showers with water pressure that’ll wake you up better than coffee, plus these gorgeous subway tiles that somehow look both vintage and modern.

The staff here actually seems to give a damn, which is refreshing. Check-in was smooth even when I arrived early on a busy weekend, and they remembered my name throughout my stay without that weird forced friendliness you get at chain hotels. There’s this great little coffee setup in the lobby that runs pretty much all day – not amazing coffee, but definitely drinkable and way better than those pod machines most places stick you with. Parking can be a bit tricky since they don’t have their own lot, but there’s usually street parking within a block or two if you’re patient. The neighborhood gets a little quiet after dark, which I actually loved – you can sleep with the windows cracked open without dealing with constant traffic noise. I did notice the elevators are a bit slow, but honestly, that’s about the only thing I’d complain about. The whole place has this relaxed, authentic feel that makes you want to hang out in your room instead of just crashing there between activities. For a 4-star place, they’re definitely punching above their weight – that 9 rating isn’t just inflated reviews, it’s actually earned.
