Garamond, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Krakow Old Town Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Garamond, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Krakow Old Town on Świętego Marka street, you immediately get that “this is exactly where I want to be” feeling. The building itself has this understated elegance that fits perfectly into Krakow’s historic fabric — it’s not trying too hard to stand out, but you can tell there’s something special about it. I mean, when you’re literally steps from the Main Market Square, the location does most of the talking for you.
The Heart of Everything
Honestly, the location is what makes this place shine. You’re in the absolute center of the Old Town, which means you can stumble out of the hotel and be at St. Mary’s Basilica in about two minutes. The Cloth Hall, all those incredible restaurants tucked into medieval cellars, the horse-drawn carriages — it’s all right there. What I really appreciate is that you can walk to pretty much everything without dealing with trams or taxis, and when you’re tired from all that sightseeing, you’re never more than a few minutes from your room.
The Room Experience
The rooms have this modern boutique feel that somehow doesn’t clash with the historic setting. It’s a four-star property, so you’re getting quality without the stuffiness that sometimes comes with fancier places. The beds are actually comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathrooms are well-designed too — good water pressure, which honestly matters more than you think after a long day of walking on cobblestones.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast setup is a buffet situation, and it’s pretty solid. You’ve got your standard European breakfast fare, but they do it well — fresh bread, good coffee, local touches that make it feel less generic. I actually found myself looking forward to breakfast, which doesn’t always happen at hotels. The dining area has this relaxed vibe where you can take your time planning your day, and the staff seems genuinely happy to help with recommendations.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances everything — you’re getting that boutique hotel experience without the pretension, and the location is honestly unbeatable. Couples especially seem to love it here, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about being able to wander the Old Town at night and then retreat to a comfortable, well-appointed hotel. The fact that guests consistently rate the location so highly tells you everything you need to know. You’re not just staying in Krakow — you’re staying in the best part of Krakow, in a place that actually enhances the experience rather than just providing a bed for the night.

Perfect location close to the big square. One morning we had to leave early for an excursion, too early for breakfast hours, but we could pick up breakfast packages at the reception at 5 am, that was excellent.
