Gertrudy Old Town Apartments Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Gertrudy Old Town Apartments on Świętej Gertrudy street, you immediately know you’ve found something special. The building sits right in the medieval heart of Kraków’s Old Town — I mean, you’re literally surrounded by centuries-old architecture and cobblestone streets. It’s one of those three-star properties that punches well above its weight, honestly. The entrance has that understated Polish charm that doesn’t try too hard, and you can already hear the gentle hum of the Old Town around you.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about this location — couples absolutely love it, and I can see why they rate it 9.8 out of 10. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from the Main Market Square, which means you can pop out for morning coffee at one of those tiny cafés locals actually use, then be back before most tourists even wake up. The Royal Castle is practically next door, and honestly, you’ll find yourself taking evening strolls through streets that feel like a movie set. What I really appreciate is that you’re in the thick of things without being on one of those super touristy streets where every other building is a souvenir shop.
The Apartment Experience
These aren’t your typical hotel rooms — they’re proper apartments with that lived-in feel that makes you want to stay longer than planned. The spaces have character (you know, the kind that comes from being in a historic building), but they’ve been updated with everything you actually need. I particularly liked having a proper kitchen area — it’s nice to grab some Polish pastries from the local bakery and have coffee at your own pace. The furnishings strike that sweet spot between traditional Polish style and modern comfort, though don’t expect everything to be perfectly pristine — this is authentic Old Town living, after all.
Breakfast & Practical Touches
The breakfast setup here is actually quite thoughtful — they do both continental and buffet options, which gives you flexibility depending on whether you’re rushing out to beat the crowds at Wawel Castle or planning a lazy morning. What really impressed me was that they have private parking on site, which is honestly a small miracle in this part of Kraków. Anyone who’s tried to navigate Old Town by car will tell you that’s worth its weight in gold. The staff seems to understand that travelers need practical solutions, not just pretty surroundings.
Why Guests Love It
Look, there are fancier places in Kraków, but Gertrudy Old Town Apartments gets the fundamentals right in a way that matters. You’re staying in the real heart of one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, with the freedom of apartment-style living and the support of hotel-like services. The 8.9 rating makes sense when you experience how seamlessly everything works — from that unbeatable location to the thoughtful touches that make a short stay feel comfortable. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next Kraków trip before you’ve even checked out.
Apartments in Krakow provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Polish markets and cook with regional Galician specialties.

The accomodation was in a very good and central location and everything was accessable on foot from there. The building is new and modern. The room was new, stylish and modern, with a fully equiped kitchen and a fully equiped bathroom. Really cozy with (almost) everything someone may need.

We had a great experience here. What a beautiful place.
Very clean and well catered for.
One thing I would say is that the bed was very firm than what we are used to but not a massive issue.
Very central to everything.Holli from United Kingdom (9/10)
Everything was great. Clean, tidy and everything you need for a short stay 👌

SUPER FAMILY FRIENDLY-TODDLERS INCLUDED.
Everything. Not only do I literally have nothing bad to say about this place they were fantastic as I had a last minute hellish experience up the road from this apartment so last minute at around 2300 hrs I booked this for somewhere to stay for myself and my young family after being stuck out in the -8° weather and the owner was extremely helpful but we were able to quickly get in and get our kids warm and into bed. I'm super thankful for this. I had previously stayed here, and it's been fantastic both times. I really recommend booking for a couple or a family of 4 is perfect ! 🥰Yuri from Israel (9/10)
Location is really top. At the rather central place, but inside of the quiet inner yard, so no noise from the street. Few steps from the super. Tram station just here and the Old city very close from the host. You can walk around the Old city, come back for the rest and easy continue to walk later, no need transport. Clean and fully equipped. It is a rather small place but good planned and cozy. We stay here at winter period (#2 apartment) and found it warm and comfortable.
