Hotel Description

So I’ve stayed at Glass Atelier – LoftAffair a handful of times now, and honestly? It’s one of those places that grows on you. You walk up to Grodzka 16 and think “okay, another converted building in the Old Town” – but then you get inside and realize someone actually put thought into this place. The loft-style rooms have these great high ceilings and industrial touches that feel authentic rather than trying-too-hard trendy.

What I really appreciate is the location – and I mean the actual, practical location, not just “heart of Old Town” nonsense. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Main Square, but far enough down Grodzka that you’re not dealing with the street performers and tour groups at all hours. The building itself is tucked between a little café that does incredible pierogi (the owners will point you there) and one of those tiny galleries that somehow always has something interesting in the window. Parking is… well, it’s Old Town, so forget about it. But honestly, you won’t need a car anyway – everything worth seeing is walkable, and there’s a tram stop right at the end of the street if you want to venture out to Kazimierz or Podgórze.

The rooms have this great glass element (hence the name, I assume) that lets in tons of natural light during the day. I mean, the bathrooms can feel a bit exposed if you’re traveling with someone you’re not super comfortable with – just something to keep in mind. The beds are actually decent, which isn’t always a given at this price point, and the little kitchenette setup means you can grab groceries at the Żabka down the street and have breakfast without hunting for an open café at 7 AM. What really sealed it for me though was the staff – they’re not overly chatty, but they know their stuff. Last time I was there, the guy at reception gave me directions to this amazing milk bar that I never would have found otherwise, and warned me that the castle gets absolutely mobbed after 10 AM (he was right). The building can get a bit echo-y when people are coming and going late at night, but that’s sort of the trade-off with the loft aesthetic. Overall, it’s got that sweet spot vibe – nice enough that you feel good about staying there, authentic enough that it doesn’t feel like a chain hotel, and practical enough that you’re not constantly battling weird quirks. For a 3-star place with an 8.1 rating, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for.

Reviews

  • Cozy, convenient and comfortable. – Paul from United Kingdom – December 31, 2024 (9/10)

Excellent location on one of the main streets in the Old Town. Right in the hustle and bustle of Krakow but still surprisingly quiet inside the apartment.

What could be improved: 3 of the window blinds were broken/missing not too bad in winter but in summer should a member of your party be using the sofa bed like we were it would be a nuisance.

  • Exceptional – Azar from Israel – January 24, 2025 (10/10)

It was very accessible and close to everything. The location was perfect, it was clean, spacious, and everything was new. The hosts were responsive and flexible with us

What could be improved: I tried to see some tv/movie it didn’t work

  • Exceptional – Scott from United Kingdom – January 20, 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: Little hard to find in the first place and can be noisy at times

  • Exceptional – Leon from United Kingdom – December 16, 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was really beautiful lovely layout it felt cosy and homely, lovely and clean. The only difficult thing we found was finding the appartment on arrival you have to go throught the entry for the mirror maze attraction which we didnt realise at fist and were a bit confused but the location of the apartment in general was ideal as it was close to plenty of shops and restraunts. The communication with the letting company was outstanding fast response and help us with anything we needed. We would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in kraków town centre p.s. The apartment is exactly as the photos shown

  • A well-located stay with some thoughtful touches, but let down by safety concerns, cleanliness issues, and lack of comfo – Nicole from United Kingdom – August 7, 2025 (6/10)

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location was great—convenient and easy to get around. I appreciated that clean bedsheets were provided for the sofa bed, and there were fresh towels readily available in the cupboard. These small touches made the stay more comfortable.

What could be improved: There were several aspects that could be improved. The entrance to the hotel didn’t feel entirely secure, especially with an attraction right outside and another nearby. The key box didn’t work at first, which made check-in more stressful than it needed to be.

Inside, the blinds were broken, which let in a lot of light early in the morning. There was no air conditioning and not enough fans to cool the entire space, and since the street outside was quite loud, opening the windows wasn’t really an option. Cleanliness also fell short of expectations – we noticed dust and a broken bin in the kitchen.

Another inconvenience was not being able to turn off the under-counter lights in the kitchen, which made sleeping on the sofa bed less comfortable. Additionally, storage for luggage was limited, but we managed to make it work.

  • Falsely Advertised RENTER BEWARE – Renata from United States – July 26, 2025 (1/10)

What could be improved: The loft was falsely advertised, the upstairs where the “bedrooms” are located you can call them closets NOT bedrooms. You can not even stand up only six yr old was able to stand. The mattress are on the floor and are very thin. You can feel the springs and floor. The bedding smelled of curry and not clean. If you want any privacy you have to close the curtains and glass door to the “bedrooms” they are more like closets you can not call them bedrooms. So those had to remain open if you wanted to be able to breath. The windows had to be open day/night because there is no ventilation otherwise and when you keep the windows open you have cigarette smoke smell in your apartment. We tried closing the windows but the fans do not work to provide cool air. It definite not safe for kids because the stairs leading up to the tiny closet bedrooms has no railings on the opposite side so you can easily fall down. But the stairs are metal and not comfortable, so you have to walk really slow or with shoes on because the metal racks hurt your feet. Overall I would NOT rent here again.

  • Godt kvarter – Seradona from Denmark – April 18, 2025 (8/10)

– Dominika from Sweden – January 3, 2025 (7/10)

    Centralt läge och mysig lägenhet.

What could be improved: Inga parkeringsmöjligheter och lite kyligt i lägenheten.

  • Fair – Małgorzata from Poland – August 3, 2025 (5/10)

What could be improved: Brak klimatyzacji w pokojach na antresoli nie można było spać tak było gorąco

  • Fin lägenhet med väldigt bra läge – Morgan from Sweden – July 18, 2025 (10/10)

Väldigt fin lägenhet med perfekt läge i centrala Krakow. Nära till allt i gamla stan. Smidig in- och utcheckning och bra information och kontakt med värden.
