First Impressions

Walking up to Grace Apartments on Starowiślna Street, you immediately know you’ve hit the jackpot location-wise. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Main Market Square — I could hear the horse-drawn carriages clattering by from my window. The building itself has that classic Kraków charm, tucked right into the cobblestone streets of Old Town where every corner feels like you’re wandering through a medieval fairytale. It’s a three-star property, but honestly, the location alone makes it feel much more upscale than you’d expect.

The Heart of Old Town

Here’s what I love about staying right on Starowiślna — you can stumble out the front door and be at St. Mary’s Basilica in about three minutes. The Cloth Hall, Wawel Castle, all those incredible restaurants serving pierogi and oscypek cheese? Everything’s within easy walking distance. Couples absolutely rave about this spot (and I can see why), because there’s something genuinely romantic about having the entire historic center as your backyard. You know what’s really nice? Late at night when the day-trippers have gone home, you get to experience Old Town like a local.

The rooms at Grace Apartments are what I’d call thoughtfully designed — nothing flashy, but everything you actually need is there. My apartment had a proper kitchenette, which came in handy when I wanted to grab some local bread and cheese from the nearby market for a quick lunch. The windows are double-glazed (trust me, you’ll appreciate this with all the street activity), and the Wi-Fi actually works well throughout the space. The bathrooms are modern and clean, though not huge — but honestly, when you’re spending most of your time exploring Kraków’s incredible streets, who cares about bathroom size?

Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast setup here. They’ve got continental options, but what caught my attention was how they’ve embraced different dietary needs — proper vegetarian and vegan choices, plus Italian-style options that go beyond the typical hotel fare. The breakfast-to-go option is actually brilliant if you want to grab something and head straight out to beat the crowds at Wawel Castle. I found myself mixing and matching — some days eating in, other days taking my coffee and pastry to enjoy in the nearby Planty Park while planning my day.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Grace Apartments isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in Kraków, and that’s exactly why it works so well. You’re paying for an unbeatable location in a city where location is absolutely everything — being able to walk to dinner, walk to sights, walk to bars, and then walk home without dealing with taxis or trams is priceless. The staff understands that most guests are here to explore the city, not lounge around the hotel, so they’ve focused on making sure you have a comfortable, well-equipped base in the perfect spot. For the price point and that incredible Old Town address, it’s honestly hard to beat.

  It was a lovely 5 minute walk to the main square so didn't take long. There was a nice cafe shop on the top of the street.
